(Silver Wolf's POV)

After knocking out Carmen Sandiego I pulled out my VILE pad. I pressed a button and the face of Dr Bellum appeared on screen. She didn't notice I was there at first, so I cleared my throat to get her attention.

"Yes, yes what is it..."
She turned towards the screen and saw me.

"Ah Silver Wolf, I presume that everything went well?"
I nodded, moving the camera to show Carmen Sandiego's unconscious body.

"Ah brilliant! I just hope it was the right amount of nightshade, I'll have to conduct further experiments later."

Coach Brunt came over and slapped a hand on my shoulder. I tried to stand tall, but the force made me have to try to regain my balance. She ignored the Doctors cry of 'Careful!' and started to speak.

"Doc this new project of yours is amazing! You should have seen Black Sheep; she was just staring helpless!"
I tilted my head a little. I knew better than to question faculty, but who was Black Sheep? Doctor Bellum saw me and started berating Coach Brunt.

"See what you've done? I told you to be careful, she's still new and the process isn't fully complete! You were the one who wanted to take her out early, so you have to play by the rules!"

They continued their arguing, and I tuned them out. I wasn't permitted to listen to conversations that weren't relevant to my missions. I instead thought about my mask that Doctor Bellum had made for me. It was created with nanotechnology, meaning that it could move around depending on my emotions. As I heard my name, my ears swivelled forward.

"Ah, perfect, I see that the mask is working. The Cleaners are en-route now to collect her. Coach, you are free to do whatever, but Silver Wolf, you are to return with the cleaners. We have to continue with my tests, so when you get back, come directly to my lab."
I nodded, and Coach Brunt smirked.

"Oh, don't worry, there is no wayI'm missing that interrogation."

Once I arrived back at VILE island I made my way to Doctor Bellum's laboratory. I knew my way now, but when I was still new the small projectors in my mask would guide me. Doctor Bellum was the only one who knew how to program them, meaning that she could control what was projected. Once the information was on it, I could control it at will, but she still has total control of what goes on it. This resulted in an excessive amount of cat videos. The facial scanner had been trained to recognise my mask, and opened immediately. I took my place on the medical bed that had been set up, placing my mask on the table next to it. I've been told to never interrupt Doctor Bellum while she was working, so I sat patiently. When she turned around and saw me, she came over like I had just come in.

"Ah Silver Wolf, you're here. I trust your first field mission went well?"

I nodded and she picked up my mask.

"Good, good. Let me collect the footage from today, then we'll run some tests."
She plugged a cable from her computer into my mask and clicked a few keys. She watched the video, and seeing nothing wrong, unplugged the mask and handed it back to me. I knew what was coming next, and after putting on my mask I offered her my arm. She seemed delighted at this and pulled out a syringe with blue liquid in it.

"Clever girl, you're learning! You know the drill, this may hurt a bit, yadda yadda."
She injected me with the serum and streaks of blue shot up my arm. I had learned quickly that any noise of pain was met with punishment, so I held down the scream that wanted to come out. Doctor Bellum pulled out a tablet with a checklist on it.

"Let's get this started. With the truth serum you can't lie, etcetera, etcetera. Now what is your name?"
"Silver Wolf."
"Do you have any memories of your past?"
"No."
"What is your main objective?"
"To take Carmen Sandiego down."
"Very good. If Carmen calls you Jules?"
"Ignore it because she is trying to trick me."

Doctor Bellum put away the pad, clearly satisfied with my answers.

"Good. Now to check that your mask is working."
She tapped on her computer, connecting to the speakers around the room. At the press of a button the eye holes in my mask were shut.

"Now, listen for the footsteps and point to where they're coming from."

I could hear the sounds from the enhanced microphones in the ears. As I pointed out each one, they got progressively quieter. I still managed to point them out every time, and when Doctor Bellum told me to stop she seemed satisfied. I could hear her shuffling around, moving some things. When my mask opened up again, the lights were off.

"Use your night vision lenses to find the jewel I've hidden around the room. You have 3 minutes."
That was new. It was 5 minutes last time. I supposed that since then I should have improved. With just a thought, the night mode activated, and I could see again. I quickly looked around and found the gem, hidden behind some books. I grabbed it and placed it in the tray on Doctor Bellums desk. She turned the lights back on and I switched my mask back to normal. I went to sit back down at her instruction and waited. She held out her hand for my mask, which I gave to her, and placed a helmet-like device on my head.

"You might want to lay down for this."
I complied, and she pushed another button on her computer. There was a pain in my head like a horrific migraine, and Doctor Bellum was looking at data on her computer. I didn't understand it, and I wasn't meant to. Eventually the pain lessened, and she took it off of my head.

"All seems to be in order, put your mask back on and go to the interrogation room. I will be there shortly."
I left and followed the path to the interrogation room. I stood waiting outside the door for Doctor Bellum, watching as the other faculty filed in. When she arrived, I was instructed to stand behind the one-way mirror. As I looked inside, I saw the defiant face of Carmen Sandiego.
