"I love her."
Jimin rolled his eyes as Jeongguk rambled on about how the sound of bells ringed in his ear when he saw this one girl in their college. "This isn't the first time I've heard that from you."
"For real this time, Jimin. I've always told you how I was sure that bells would ring when I see the one." Jeongguk whined at the fact that Jimin refused to believe him.
"Whatever, do you think you could take care of my bag for a minute or two, I will be back from the washroom real quick. Alright?" Jimin stood up, taking his phone from the table and sliding it into his pocket. He made sure the cup of coffee, which he had ordered, but still hot to take a sip, was away from the edge of the square table.
Jeongguk hummed but his eyes caught the sight of Jimin's phone and asked, "Why are you taking your phone with you, though?"
Jimin threw him a irritated look as he kept the phone back on the table and made his way towards the washroom.
Jeongguk's eyes trailed from Jimin's form, clad in light blue button-up and black slacks, to the interior of the cafe they were sitting in.
Pastel colours and soft music; a typical cafe, with aesthetically pleasing interior if you might say. Jeongguk was pleased with Jimin's choice of place for hanging out, they weren't the type to go to clubs anyway.
Jeongguk went back to the blueberry muffin he'd ordered and was about to grab the cutlery, but did not since Jimin's phone placed in top of the table caught his undivided attention. He threw a mischievous glance towards where Jimin went and grabbed the phone as he switched it on.
He let out somewhat of a disappointed sigh. A night sky with stars, both tiny and bright, was his wallpaper. He expected something else, to say the least, perhaps someone Jimin was interested in; but didn't want to reveal it to him.
Nah. Jeongguk thought. Jimin was a good flirt when he wanted to be, but never had a genuine interest in anyone before, whether it be the hot girl from college or the cute girl from their neighbourhood, he merely threw them an uninterested glance, carrying on with what he would be occupied with at that moment.
Besides who would be dumb enough to keep a picture of their crush, or girlfriend, as their wallpaper if they wanted no one to know? Not Jimin, for sure. But one can always hope.
Jeongguk kept the phone back to where it was before Jimin could come back and see, he didn't want to get a handful from the latter, not a bit.
"Kook." Jimin sat down in his chair, with raised eyebrows as if to ask whether the boy, in simple shorts and tee, did something he wasn't supposed to, not a doubt since the said boy was a tad bit too engrossed in finishing up his muffin while looking around the cafe.
"So did you say you don't know that girl's name?" Jimin asked, nonchalantly, and Jeongguk's eyes shot up towards his friend.
"I thought you didn't want to hear any of it, Jimin. But yes, you're right about me not knowing about her name." Jeongguk said, disappointment evident on his face as he couldn't find the name of the girl he'd seen when he was waiting for Jimin outside his college the same day, waiting for him to come out so that they could talk and hangout.
They were neighbours since long ago, and saying they are friends would be an understatement. Jeongguk was one of the few ones who knew that Jimin wasn't the apathetic person he seemed to be, and Jimin was one the few, the very few, with whom Jeongguk was comfortable with.
"Maybe I can help you, since she is apparently from my college, you say." Jimin took a sip of his now-not-so-hot coffee.
Jeongguk's eyes were wide, "Wait really, Jimin?" He grinned, his front teeth protruding a bit outward, making him seem similar to a cute bunny, but warm nonetheless.
"Yeah yeah, tell me how she looks or something." Jimin said, giving a small amused smile to his friend.
"Let me tell you that she isn't that girl who is tall and perfect. She looks pretty and has beautiful, I repeat very beautiful eyes, it was what caught my attention." Jeongguk shook his head with wide eyes. "I think she reaches till about my shoulders and is rather in a healthy shape than skinny."
A particular someone, who had beautiful brown eyes, popped up in Jimin's mind. Nevermind, he thought, she isn't the only one with beautiful eyes. Wait, they aren't even that beautiful. Jimin nodded and convinced himself before paying attention to Jeongguk who was now rambling about the girl with beautiful eyes.
