You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like Christianity.
You: Why do you think Jesus [PBUH] is God?
Stranger: Err forget saying Hello then aha, well I think Jesus is God because he was born miraculously without any male intervention?
You: If this is the case then Adam [PBUH] should be a greater God because he was born without any father and mother; you should worship him rather than worshiping Jesus [PBUH] or is there one character in The Bible who deserve worship more than Jesus [PBUH] and Adam [PBUH]?
Genesis:14:3 states:
‘Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God was born without a father, without a mother, without descent; having neither a beginning of days, nor an end of life’.
So does this Melchisedec deserve to be worshiped alone or along with Jesus and Adam [PBUT]?
Stranger: But Jesus is The Son of God and that's why he is a God because that would make him Godly.
You: According to your Bible, Solomon is a Son of God [2nd Samuel:8:14], Israel is a Son of God [Exodus 4:22], David is a son of God [Psalms 89:27], Adam is the son of God [Luke 3:38] and there are many other verses which incite that God addressed some of his special people as “Son of God” or “Children of God.” In addition, it is also documented in the Bible that some Prophets have addressed some priests and good followers as “Son of God” or “Children of God.”.
Moreover, even Angels are referred to as sons of God [Job:1:6], so what is so special about Jesus [PBUH] and what makes him the only Son of God?
Stranger: But Jesus was not a normal Son of God as he was the begotten Son of God as it’s mentioned in John:3:16:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
[John:3:16]
You: If this statement makes him God than let me tell you that even David was called a begotten son in Psalms:2:7, oh, and for your information the word “begotten” is thrown out from The Bible in the Revised Standard Version as a fabrication and interpolation as Jesus always referred himself as 'Son of Man' [Luke 9:22].
Furthermore, in Luke:4:41, Jesus actually rejected being called the 'Son of God', so what does Son of God mean, the term 'Son of God' should be understood as 'Servant of God'. As Romans:8:14 says:
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
[Romans:8:14] – Also it should be noted that “Son of God” in Hebrew can also mean “Servant of God”,and isn’t The Old Testament originally written in Hebrew?
Thus it makes more sense understanding the term “Son of God” as “Servant of God” as if you take it as “Son of God” then there would be according to your Bible many “Sons of God” living today, wouldn’t there be?
