Peter, Natasha, and Tony made it back into the meeting room where the rest of the Avengers waited. They were still watching the screen, where Jack sat in his still bloodied clothes. He was sitting criss-cross on his bed and seemed to be thinking about something worrying, his brow was furrowed.
"So do we believe his story?" Tony questioned the group, who had heard it all from the speakers that were wired to every camera.
"His heart rate had not sped up and he did not show any signs of lying when he told you his previous events," JARVIS informed helpfully. Tony had forgotten that he had been able to let JARVIS tell if someone was lying or not. He must have done that while he was more sleep-deprived than usual.
"So I guess we should believe him. But does that mean we should help him? I mean, he did say he was fighting against The God." Banner asked, thinking about what terrible consequences they could come across from helping the Nephilim.
"Well, he seems like a good kid. And he wasn't lying about God being evil, so I think we should help him. Plus, if he's tougher than God, then we should be safe from him, right? It's better to have the probably most powerful being on our side right?" Steve decided, making it clear that he was willing to take the kid's side against God himself. He sounded completely sure of it. But they all knew he wasn't as sure as he made it seem. But they knew why he did it so that they would be confident about their choice as well. So they let themselves believe Steve.
"Okay, so what do we do in the meantime? We have to find him somewhere to stay, maybe enroll him in school or something, while we try to find out how to get him back to his dimension." Clint suggested, adding to the conversation for the first time since he got there.
"That's a good idea! He should go to my high school! I could show him around and help him pick classes and stuff!" Peter agreed cheerfully, already starting to walk back to where Jack was currently waiting.
"Wait, kid, we don't even know if he goes to school or wants to. And we should ask him more about his dimension and situation. Why don't you go get him and bring him up here so we can do all that?" Tony instructed, usually he would be a little harsher towards someone who was so eager to become besties with an alien stranger, but he felt like Peter was sort of his kid in a way, and no way was he going to be harsh on his own kid.
Peter nodded and continued toward Jack. Soon, they saw him pop up on the screen of the medical room and after a short conversation, Peter grabbed Jack's hand and led him up to the meeting room. That was a little odd to Tony, as Tony didn't do any such thing with his guy friends. Maybe it was just Peter's generation that did that. Tony shrugged it off.
Once the two boys arrived back into the room, Tony took a seat, indicating that everyone else should do the same. Jack and Peter sat right next to each other. Weird.
"So, Jack, what do you want to do while we try to find you a way back?" Steve asked the probably-teen.
"I don't really know, I guess I thought I could try to find a spell and open a rift back to my universe. I've traveled rifts before. It was opened before because of a spell made by a witch and an archangel. Another time it was opened by my powers and a dreamwalker's powers. And the first time a rift was created by me was when I was born. So if you know of any powerful witches or dreamwalkers, you should bring them here to help." Jack explained, not understanding completely what Steve had meant by the question.
"You've opened rifts before? And why when you were born did a rift appear?" Bruce questioned curiously.
"Yes, I have. I can't say exactly why, but I guess it has something to do with my father being Lucifer." Jack answered simply, hoping the people around him won't care and won't be bothered by that fact.
