"Of course your father didn't show up." She pouted as she watched the feild.

The whole game consisted of me listening to my mother complain about how my dad didn't show up. I felt a pit of disdapointment in my stomach that he didn't show up.

Our team won, 12 to 8 and we were going to go out and celebrate.

"Let's go get pizza!" Mom smiled but we all knew it was weird because dad didn't show up.

The drive was awkward and quiet until we got near a crash site. Someone had slammed into a car which caused a 10 car pile up.

"That's so sad." Tess whispered as I noticed my dad's car.

"Mom!" I yelled as she slammed on the breaks' "That's dad's car!"

The hospital was silent when we first got there but was surrounded with commotion by now. Our whole pack almost showed up for my dad who was still in surgery.

"Is daddy gonna die?" Tess whined as I went to answer, SHE walked in.

Bianca.

"What are you doing here?" Brantley growled.

"I came to see if...if River was..." She looked pale and sick.

"He's still in surgery." I stated as she nodded her head, "Brantley calm down."

Brantley pulled away from me and left us alone. The pack members were all sitting around in the waiting room, waiting for news on my dad.

"Rivers family?" A doctor asked as we all stood up.

"Wow." He was in shock, "There's not much more we can do. It's all up to him now."

It's all up to him? What's that supposed to mean? It's all up to him? As in he's going to die ? Or isn't he? That's all we wanted to know.

"There isn't much of a chance, and I'm sorry to say it's unlikely that he will wake up."

Tears spilled down my face as Brantley walked back into the room and saw my face. With just one look, he knew.

"So what do we do?" I asked.

"We wait." He said before walking away.

My mom fell to the ground in tears as Tess clutched onto my leg, sobbing. Tears spilled down my face as I stood stiff as a board.

An alpha takes care of everyone else before they take care of themselves. And in this case, nothing was different. I was going to prove I should be alpha.

"Okay!" I spoke out loud, "There's nothing else we can do. So, everybody else get back to the pack house unless your immediate family. And Jacob, please take the younger kids with you."

"No, I want to stay." Tess whined.

"Tessa," I knelt down, "People at the house need you. I need you to do me a favor, sissy."

"Okay." She cried.

"I need you to make daddies favorite cookies. Make hundreds, and Dice will help you. I need you to make them cookies until you run out of ingeredience okay?" I sobbed.

"Okay." She hugged me before Jacob took her hand and everybody cleared out.

Hours of waiting. Hours and hours of waiting until we finally got the news. My dad had passed. He was internally bleeding and there was nothing they could do for him.

My daddy...

Died.
