chapter two - tech (기술)

"i'd prefer for you not to disturb anyone else but me." mr. kim put a stack of papers on your new desk in your cubicle which was closer to his office, probably so you wouldn't have to helplessly run around the whole floor to get to him. "Lee Seoho is in the office right down there, if i'm not around go to him. other than that i don't want you bothering him."

"yes, sir." you nodded and looked around your desk to see what you were going to work with. the laptop was placed on your desk, there was a computer and a bunch of stationery. by the looks of it, you were set to get to work. "oh, what about the login into the computers?"

"that office over there," your boss pointed to an office next to Lee Seoho's. "Ju Harin. he will provide you with everything IT based."

"ah," you smiled and nodded. "okay, i'll get to work. will you email me your list of contacts?"

"i will. make an appointment with Lee Taeyong when you get it. make sure it doesn't collide with my schedule, and refuse any appointments on tuesdays and saturdays."

"i'll do that," you bowed and mr. kim slightly smiled and nodded, going back to his office. you breathed out and sat down to look through the stack of papers first before going to IT management to get your business login. it wasn't anything too hard, just some papers you had to give out and emails you had to send out.

"so you're the new girl," you looked up to see your potential co-worker leaning over your cubicle and looking around your desk. "you're cute."

"i'm y/n, nice to meet you." you stood up with a smile and reached out to shake her hand, but she gave you a disgusted look then clicked her tongue.

"i know," she rolled her eyes. "listen, i'm gonna need you to stay away from youngjo before anything bad happens to you. understood?"

before you could ask what she meant, she went back to her cubicle. confused, you frowned and sat back down, thinking if you should forget about her or keep thinking. sighing, you needed to log into your computer so you decided to go and get your login from the IT technician. getting up and going to knock on the door that mr. kim pointed to, you patiently waited to be called in.

"come in," finally a man's voice said. you energetically opened the door and walked in, happily. you closed the door behind you and bowed to yet another representative of the company. "hello, are you new?"

"i'm y/n, mr. kim's new secretary." you smiled and walked up to his desk. he held a sweet eye smile and also stood up to shake hands with you. you gladly shook his hand as he introduced himself.

"i'm Ju Harin. please, sit down." he motioned to a comfy looking chair and you took a seat. "what can i help you with, y/n?"

"i need a login," you said. "and that's it, really."

"i was hoping you'd ask for something more complicated than that," Harin pouted but gave you an eye smile afterwards. "but i'll give you a login."

"sorry, i don't need anything more than a login now." you felt bad since he looked like he was cooped up in his office for a while without any proper work to do. being a tech professional was probably a huge deal, too.

"it's fine, i'm used to it." he chuckled and did something on his cool-looking computer with several screens. "but sitting in this office all day made me lazier than usual."

you wanted to laugh it off like Harin did but you felt a bit bad for him. he looked like a really cool guy and you wouldn't mind spending more time with him while you're working here.

"do you eat lunch alone?" you asked in hopes of him joining you for lunch. Harin shook his head and cheerfully told you he sometimes eats with his friends when they're not busy. "why dont we get a bite to eat together today?"

"that would be nice," Harin grinned and handed you a post-it note with your login on it. "i'll pick you up from your desk for lunch, it's closest one to Youngjo isn't it?"

"yeah," you took the note and grinned back at your new friend at work. "i can't wait."
