Miguel took a swig of beer. It tasted bitter but he did not mind. I’ve been through much worse tonight, he thought.
His phone rang. HE picked it up, and checked the display: Laarni. He held the cellphone for a while. He placed it on his ear, and was about to press the answer key. But something held him back.
He put the phone down and let the phone ring endlessly.

Why is he not answering his phone? Laarni thought. It only takes two ring for Miguel to answer her calls, but tonight, there seems to be the endless sound of ringing on the other end.
Ang babaw naman niya kung nagtatampo siya dahil umalis ako sa gitna ng set, she thought. There must be something else that’s bothering him. Whatever it is, it’s bothering me too.
