「EIGHT :」

Earlier, before I wrote this we were supposed to meet up at the Shibuya Train Station in Tokyo. But just like always he'll be late again and will just smile at me like a puppy as an apology.
When he finally arrived, we walked together to the train station. But we paused at the entrance when he saw the statue of Hachiko again. It was the dog immortalized in Japanese and (to a lesser extent) American movies as the dog who faithfully waited for his dead master outside of Shibuya station for nine years. Like in my situation. However, the one I kept waiting for wasn't dead. He just couldn't tell me anything about what's really behind his life. Behind his
forced smile.
He told me I looked like that. Funny, how we all know that it was really HIM who looked like the dog. I just laughed. In which he thought I was laughing with him. However, the truth was, I was laughing at him. But he never knew.
While walking inside the train station. He asked me what was my favorite word. I told him it was blessing. I told him that word without thinking carefully. I just let my heart spoke. I guess that was really my favorite word. The gift we all kept receiving from God. However, only a few people appreciates.
I asked him what was his. He told me he have none. He said that he have no time for having favoritism on words. This boy is really confusing. Then we rode a train. The view from the window was majestic.
However, his eyes filled with only emptiness pulled more of my curiosity. I want to ask him, why is he like that? I want to ask him, what he was thinking about? Was there something bothering him?
I asked him, if we were in a chess game, what would he want to be? Does he want to be one of the pawns? The king? He said none. With mysterious golden eyes that illusionally looked like glowing. He told me that he wanted to be. . .
the player.
Inside this game called life. I am afraid that we'll someday stop pretending. Well, it's not like I disliked being true. It's just that, he always told me I'm good at pretending to be the hero while he was the villian. That's why it'll be unexpected if everything did became true. While being in this game called life. I hoped he won't be the one he's good at pretending to be which was being the evil entity.
Sincerely,
---──── ・ Silence reigned the whole room. Even the Older Minamoto that was standing behind his desk earlier was now here beside us and reading the note. The reason for this silence was halved. In the first half is that some were trying to comprehend and was confused at what they just read. Or the second half reason, that some were still reading the note.
And I belonged to the first half reason. I'm still trying to comprehend in my mind what I just read. The year of the date and the one who wrote it weren't clear anymore since it was already smudged. Guessing that it's probably written from a long time ago.
But the main content was given. Yet it was still really confusing. I couldn't tell which was which. The writer was unknown, the year of the date was unknown, and even the person that the writer was referring to was unknown.
