Mark's POV

"You idiot! Did you not learn anything from school?! Am I paying money for you to just settle for less?!" A woman shouted. We turned around to look at Zyrandria Salvatore and her parents.
Zyrandria Salvatore was one of the smart students at our class. Zyrandria was friends with the cool and popular group in the class yet she was able to keep her grades up. Zyrandria always told us that she was having a hard time studying since her parents are pressuring her.
Every time she told us that we only nodded but none of us actually believed her. Her parents were nothing but sweet and kind whenever we meet them but now, it was exactly as Zy described them.
It was the last quarter of this school year. We all stared in shock at the scene. Even the teachers stopped whatever their doing. We were all shocked at the sudden outburst. Zyrandria only stared at her parents blankly as if she was already used to this or expecting this.
"Zyrandria we're only pressuring you because we know you're better than this. You've achieved things better than this" Her father told her. A small 'tch' was heard from Zyrandria as is she wasn't believing anything that came out from her father's mouth. Her face was blank and emotionless but her eyes hold all the hatred. It was as if she was holding her anger.
"You ungrateful child! We're doing this for you to get accepted in a good univeristy! We're doing all of this for you!" Her mother shouted. We all just stood there frozen and watching the scene unfold.
"Some good university doesn't allow this" her mother pointed at the board the continues "kind of grade and rank!" Her mother shouted. On the board, what was written was the ranking:
RANKING
1 - ANASHA CARTER
2 - GREY DE LUCA
3 - ZYRANDRIA SALVATORE
4 - JHEO HERNANDEZ
5 - FRANCINE GUERRERO
At her mother's shouting, this is where Zyrandria lost it. "well... then you should DO IT YOURSELF" she shouted at the end of her sentences. Her parents' faces were priceless. It was complete shock. I'm assuming that Zyrandria has never complained nor shouted about them.
"Yes I am grateful for EVERYTHING you do for me but there is a LIMIT! Like... how about CONTROLLING ME!" she shouted and continues once more. "I have had ENOUGH of this so if you want, try and get a high grade. It's not that easy. My generation is different from yours and I am not you so STOP COMPARING ME TO YOUR OLD SELF!" Zyrandria shouted at her mother.
Then suddenly, out of nowhere. Her mother slapped her. Most of the room gasped from shock. Zyrandria's head turned sideways. She meets her mother's eyes once more before laughing humourlessly.
"I have had enough" she said calmly. "Go and chat to whoever teacher on the subject I have the lowest. I'm going home. Once you come home, I won't be there. You won't have a daughter congrats you got what you wished for" she said before grabbing her bag and walking out.
What happened afterwards? No one knew. That was the last that we saw of Zyrandria Salvatore.
