Intro: Ali
Hi. I'm Ali. Ali Richardson. My real name is Alison. I'm 15 years old. I live in Cedar Wood, Colorado. My house is off about a quarter of a mile off of the little town. The school is about 5 blocks from my house, so I walk. This incident happened about a week before the last day of school. I'm a sophomore. I go to parties, yeah, but rarely with the school kids. I'm kind of wild. Oh wait. I'm not kind of wild. I'm REALLY wild. I can't wait to get out of here. I go to parties away from town, every time my best friend Tiffany can find a good one. She turned 16 before me, so she can drive. She is the one who gives us rides. Tif's my best friend. I don't know what I would do without her.
What? I'm supposed to talk about the incident? But that's what I was warming up to!! Anyway, I was with Tif, and we were heading to Longmont. Tif heard there was a great party downtown and she was DYING to go. So I agreed. It was a dark, clammy evening, and she drove on the dark highway. We were the only car for miles. I looked out the rear view mirror and shuddered. A car came up behind us. Tif sped up a little bit. So did the mysterious car! Tif slowed down. So did the car. We flipped out and Tif pushed down on the gas pedal. Hard.
"What the hell....?" I cried. My best friend was shuddering next to me, behind the wheel. With her amazing driving skills, she got the car next to us. In the tinted window, a distinct, shadowed figure took shape behind the wheel. The window rolled down, and the radio suddenly started making that crackling noise when it loses connection. A hazy voice said, "I am here." While Tif drove, I looked over to the mysterious car. A shadowed, hooded figure looked at us, and all you could see under the hood was a set of glowing red eyes and a wide, pointed smile. Sharp teeth dug into the evil creature's lips as it smiled at me. Me. It was looking at ME! I screamed. I told Tif to lose him. She pulled over. We got out of the car. Nothing sped around us. The radio was still making that weird noise.
"You think you lost me. I will never be lost. I'm always watching you. Always." And it shut off.
"That was weird!!" I cried out, still shaking, badly. Tif looked at me and shrugged. I knew something was up, and I was ready to seize the day, I was going to figure it out!
When we got to the party, we started feeling better. We forgot about the whole incident, until we left. We were all eyes, looking for the mysterious man. Every corner we turned, we had our eyes open. We purposely dodged the highway. We took every major road, and even though there was traffic, I was so happy to see other cars to be witnesses just in case it happened again.
When we got back to my place, Tif called her mom. She asked if she could spend the night. "Honey, I want you home tonight." I heard her mom reply. Tif grumbled. "See you at school then." I stomped the snow off my boots and went inside. Early April. Snow. I don't see how that mixes!
Anyway. It got worse after I woke up the next morning. My parents always left early for work. So, it was up to me to wake up and get ready. Plus, I had to wake up my little brother, too. So, I got up, slowly. Last night couldn't come to me. Typical. I would have to get Tif to help me remember. Every corner I turned that morning all I could see was the red eyes. I remember them from somewhere........but I can't remember where!!! I walked to school, even though I was a drag. My hair was frizzy because I didn't have the energy to straighten it, and my makeup was sloppy. You couldn't recognize it was me! That was until the popular "princess" of the 11th grade world showed up. Kitty. She saw me and said, "Hey sleeping beauty! What happened to your face? You look like an accident that we witnessed last night!!!"
"Haha so funny I forgot to laugh!" I shouted, flashing her a dirty look.
"I hope you can clean that face up," She smirked, "And maybe you can survive our presentations today. Kyle is in that class!" I gasped. Kyle was the hottest guy in school. How did she know I had a crush on him?
"Well, I hope you fall in a sewer before then, because it would fix that ugly, broken face!" I commented half shyly half confidently. I ran off to the bathroom, straightening iron bouncing in my backpack, makeup hanging out of my pocket. 20 minutes of study hall, the teacher won't mind. I skip it sometimes. She still thinks I'm a great student, which is difficult. When I got into the bathroom, I saw Tif. She screamed.
"What? What's the matter?" I yelled, racing towards her. She pointed to my shadow.
"What? I don't see anything!" I looked behind me, the thing from the other night grinned at me again, fading away. Tif screamed again, and started crying. She huddled in the corner, holding her knees. I dropped my backpack and held her close.
I whispered so only she could here, "It's ok. It's ok. It's gonna be ok." I clutched her tighter. A small group of girls came in, laughing. When they saw us, one girl looked at us funny. Another girl I knew came down by us and asked what was wrong. I told her the story. We got Tif up and took her to the office. We explained the story, and I had to sit in the office, because I was a witness. After they took her to the nurse, lied her down, and talked to her and asked her questions, they talked to me. I explained everything, but I couldn't remember much. Again. It's just like my memory was erased....
