Hi i'm Y/N I just started volleyball at Karasuno High school and let's just say I am really new at volleyball, I started playing because my best friend Hinata, begged me to play even though i am shorter then him and let's just say he is SHORT
I was walking to the gym when it hit me like a rock that i had joined right when we were supposed to scrimmage Nekoma high, I turned around when i had heard Hinata yell my name, "Y/N~CHAN!" I started running when i got tackled, "HINATA~SENPAI GET OFF ME!" I yelled trying to get up, "promise you won't run away?" he asked i nodded and and stopped trying he got up and off me and dragged me into the gym
When we got inside we were met with a giant I hid behind hinata, "stop suki you are scaring him!" he yelled at the giant, the giant rolled his eyes and walked away, I saw the nekoma team and I wanted to hide, " don't worry Y/N~chan it'll be fine," Hinata whispered to me
Luckily for me no one saw me except the giant and Hinata so i can run if i have to, while i was thinking Hinata moved form in front of me so i could be seen, that's when a volleyball came flying at my face I hit it just in time but I hit it so hard that it bounced really high and got stuck between the pillars, "opps sorry..." everyone was looking at me, so much for my escape plan, I wantedto cry dang i am a boy i shouldn't cry, "it's ok Y/N~chan," Hinata smiles, Hinata is the only one who knows about my dad beating me so i guess he feels pity for me
"Nice moves," a boy with pudding colored hair says to me, "umm t-thank you," dang it Y/N your voice cracked, he put out his hand i flinched thinking he was going to hit me, "it's okay i'm not going to hit you," he whispers I let out a breath i didn't know i was holding in, I shaked his hand and smiled, "KENMA HURRY UP WE ARE ABOUT TO START!" he looked and me and nodded and I nodded back, when he was walking over to his team i got a good look at him, he was cute, "Y/N this is no time for falling in love, " i whispered to myself, "COME ON Y/N~CHAN!" Hinata yelled, "COMING" I yelled
The giant stopped me, "why are you wearing a long sleeved shirt under your jersey?" I looked up at him and said nothing, "you can't wear it dum dum," I nodded and took off my jersey and my long sleeved shirt and i heard everything go quiet i was on the verge of crying, I put on the jersey and looked at my arms, they were all bruised, I walked past the giant with the long sleeved shirt in my hands
KENMA'S POV
I saw the boy or as i now know Y/N take off his shirts and i saw the bruises and what looked like hand prints on his chest I gasped and it got the attention of Kuroo which got my team's attention and it got so quiet that you could hear Y/N's short breaths I wanted to run over and hug him to make him feel better, okay there is something wrong with me , I went to go over but Kuroo stopped me i looked at him and he shook his head no i looked at Y/N he.was.crying. I felt really mad
Kenma get yourself together, Kuroo pulled me to the court Y/N was walking with his long sleeved shirt he threw it to the side.
READER'S POV
I went to the line up and stood next to Hinata, "Y/N you are crying," Hinata says as he wipes the tears that I didn't know were there, "thanks senpai," I smile at him and out of nowhere I yell, "LET'S DO THIS!" Hinata cheers and so does the rest of Karasuno
TIME SKIP
Hinata kept the ball away from me most of the game but the ball that was coming was hit by a guy with bed head and it was coming at me fast so i braced for the pain I hit it over the net and I think no one was expecting it to so it hit the ground I took a breath trying not to cry and said, "STOP GOING EASY ON ME!" Hinata gave me a look of concern, the boy with pudding colored hair as i now know Kenma picked up the ball, "you heard the boy," the boys on his team looked shocked but they quickly changed and we started playing again
TIME SKIP
After the game which was very long thanks to Hinata, I felt awful my arms were throbbing, "here this will help," Kenma said as he gave me an ice pack I nodded and put it were it most hurt we sat down, Kenma started to play a game on his phone, I was watching him, Karasuno and Nekoma were getting to know each other, after a couple of minutes I started to feel really tired and I couldn't help but fall asleep
KENMA'S POV
I felt something fall on my shoulder, I look back to see (H/L) (H/C) Y/N.FELL.ASLEEP.ON.MY.SHOULDER, "what a cutie," i whispered to myself then it hit me I like Y/N number J/N (number on your jersey) I smiled it's not that bad Hinata tapped my shoulder, "he must really like you," he says and smiles, I just looked at him, "can you give this to him," I looked at the thing he was holding it was a phone, "okay," is all I said and I grabbed it , Hinata walks away Y/N's phone buzzed I looked at the phone to see missed calls and new messages from his dad, and curiosity kills the cat, it was unlocked I opened it and saw his dad was very, very. very, very angry
He was the reason that when i went to shake Y/N's hand that he flinched, I felt Y/N shiver, "my poor kitten," i whispered in his ear I took off my jacket and i put it on his small body and i hugged him

I waved Hinata over and showed him the phone and his face went as pale as a ghost's, "Y/N~chan has to leave now!" that's when we heard honking outside, "that's probably him," Hinata ran to their coach and told him something and his face went white as well i hugged Y/N tighter he woke up and looked at me, "what's going on," he wrapped my jacket around him tighter and tried to get up i pulled him back down and he tensed then relaxed, he started closing his eyes, "I won't let him hurt you," Y/N nodded and fell asleep again
