okay, so basically— this is going to be like.. a taste of my works before i lay down the ground rules. yes, this chapter sucks— no i do not believe they are going to get better.. but like, who did?? anyway, have fun with this trash!
💫adelaide had been walking home late from her job for the past week, and for that past week she'd felt like she'd been watched- every time she walked home, and everytime she walked to work. but everytime she looked around her to see if anyone was around her, to spot this creep no-one was there. not a shadow, not a figure- not even an outline! there was nothing, and it was annoying her greatly.
her childish mind, after she had told her good friend charlie what was going on, whom had lost contact afterward strangely enough, joked about it being a monster- a demon from hell- that did not helped her in anyway, in the fucking slightest- wondered to the thought that it could, might be a demon- might be the devil following her, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. to grab her and drag her down to hell as her screams and pleas for help fell upon deaf ears.
that thought alone was enough to make her shiver as she walked down the familiar street, five blocks away from her house, and hugged her arms closely to her chest. she kept looking around, eyes darting to anything moving, the swaying of the trees leaves making her already terrified mind go mad.
eyes, eyes were everywhere around her- watching her. she felt insane, stupid for believing something so,, childish. wasn't she meant to be old enough to stop believing in stories like that? take a joke? her mind kept telling her there were footsteps behind her, catching up on her- about to grab her and pull her into that burning, horrific place.
'monsters aren't real,' her mature side of her mind said, calming her slightly. but the wind picked up just as she thought that, making her whimper and shrink down more, into the jumper she was wearing. the lights above her began to flicker, making her eyes well up with tears. "monsters aren't real," she said hesitantly, feeling her breathing pick up as she tried calming down her fast beating heart.adelaide continued down the street, at a faster pace now- practically running away from the growing anxiety taunting her mind. it kept telling her something was right behind her, breathing down her neck- but she was to fucking scared to look behind her to see if it was right, the wind picking up more and more.
suddenly someone grasped her from behind and a scream of absolute terror left her lips and she whirled around- ready to punch the person right in the face when they grabbed her hand and held it tightly, laughing at her scared face- as white as a porcelain doll. "addy, chill-" the person giggled, and a sense of security washed over her panicked state as the familiarity of the voice dawned on her. "it's me, it's me- pfft- nicholas green-" nick stated, trying not to scare her further.
quickly adelaide wrapped her arms around the boy, although her gut begged her not to, being to bawl her eyes out as she shook- both from the cold and the fear invading her veins. she felt cold, weak and useless as she clung to the boy for comfort- crying her heart out.
the boy on the other hand had to hold back a smile, gasping in shock when she hugged him- his eyes widening to the size of dinner plates as he slowly hugged her back. he'd been watching her for weeks, getting rid of the people she didn't need in her life so he could have her- scoop her up and give her the love she deserved. this moment would not go to waste. "ade- adelaide?" the boy asked weakly, feeling his heart rate increase and his eyes turn to hearts. his face was coated in a red blush as he looked down at the girl, holding back a squeal at how innocent and vulnerable she looked.. how he wanted to run his hands through her hair and whisper to her how much she meant to him.
"i- i'm so sorry it's just,, i've felt like i've been watched for weeks since i got this job and i'm so scared-- my friend said it could be a monster and i know i'm fifteen and shouldn't be scared of a joke,"the boy shushed the girl immediately, claiming it was fine while deep down- he was raging. how dare that ungrateful scumbag scare her like this. his rage piled up and this was the one time he was thankful for his tourettes as he began shaking violently, and could just blame it on that and the cold. "no- no it's fine," he mumbled through a strained smile, although it was barely noticeable that it was even bothering him. he was so glad he killed that brat that scared adelaide like this so badly.
"o- oh i'm--" the girl stammered, her face flushing a deep red as she realized she was hugging the boy and wetting his shirt with her tears and pulled back immediately, obviously not missing the frown as a reply from nick. "i didn't mean too,, i'm-- i'm sorry--"
"no" nick spoke quickly, forcefully, as he stared down at the shorter girl- watching as she flinched before realizing his mistake. "don't be sorry, i mean." he said quickly, to recover from his fit of rage- blinking a couple times to rid of the look in his eyes. "you have nothing to be sorry for, i promise."
adelaide slowly nodded, feeling her gut telling her to turn around, run for it-- get as far away as possible. she knew she was faster than him, she'd playfully run away from him before at the job, and she had lost him not even a minute into the chase. but she felt he'd find her, wherever she went, and that feeling made her stomach drop, and the colour drain from her face. realization dawned on her a little too late when she took notice that nick never ever came this way before, she'd never even seem him walk this way after work together- he always went the other way. "no,, not to cut this meeting short, and i thank you for comforting me, but i've got to--"
"go? go where?" the boy inquired, showing a sudden interest in where she was off to in such a hurry as he grabbed her hands in his, raising a brow. "you only have to go home and sleep, there's nothing else to do,"adelaide felt her lunch from this morning rise in her throat immediately at his words- and she had to forcefully stop herself from gagging. she tried tugging her hands away from his but he tightened his grip, giving her a threatening look to stop her from doing such. "nick, nick let me go-" the girl pleaded, feeling uneasy as she started crying again.
"how i wish it didn't have to go this way," the boy sighed, pulling her into a hug and holding her securely into place by wrapping one arm around her waist, the other going to dig into his pocket to get something. "you couldn't made this easy on the both of us, addy~ but you had to go and be so disobedient." the boy growled as she squirmed to break free, tightening his hold. "stay fucking still or i'll break your legs."
the way his voice deepened at his threat made ade gag, and she had to use all of her willpower not to puke on him-- she didn't wanna make him more mad than he already is. she still continued to beg, pleading with him to let her go- especially when he pulled the object out of his pocket,, a syringe. her body froze at the sight of the thing-- her breath catching in her throat immediately. "no- nono! nick, please! i'll come with you silently just please no!" she pleaded, crying more as he gently pushed the needle into the soft skin of her neck.
when her body tensed at the contact nick sighed, pushing a little harsher as the needle broke her skin and entered, making adelaide begin crying. "i'm sorry, baby~" nicholas cooed, pushing down on the lever thingy and watching as the sleeping liquid injected into her system. her body immediately went weak and her eyes rolled back- closing. "this is the only way~" he cooed again, watching as the last of the liquid was pushed in before taking out the syringe, throwing it back into his pocket before hoisting the girl into his arms. "i love you, i really do. it's just,
i can't let the monsters of this world taint you."☄️
