After a particularly grueling week of hunts, Team Free Will was quite enjoying their self-given day off. Sam was tapping away on his lap - no doubt looking for new jobs - while Dean and Cas were stretched out on the motel room couch watching whatever Hallmark movie was playing (because that was the only channel the eons old television tuned into). Dean was in the far end, feet in the coffee table and an almost-empty beer bottle on the lamp table; Cas had fallen asleep an hour ago, head resting on a pillow in the hunter's lap, one hand holding on to Dean's loosely. At one point Cas's brow furrowed for a moment before he relaxed again, and Dean pulled his hand up to lay a gentle kiss on the top of it.
"Just admit it, Dean. You love Cas-"
"Will it make your pretty little week if I say yes?" he looked over from the couch to where Sam was sitting at the table - rubbing his thumb affectionately over the angel's.
A large shit-eating grin spread over Sam's face, "yes. It will."
"Yes. Yes, I love Cas. Happy?" he laid a gentle kiss on the top of Cas' hand once more before returning it to where it had been.
The angel stirred and looked up at Dean from where he had dozed off, "did I miss something important?"
Sam burst out laughing - almost choking on his water. Dean grabbed a pillow off the couch and lobbed it at Sam - catching him in the face.
Dean scoffed, "you're just mad cause you're still single."
"Oh yeah, that's why. I'll leave you two love birds alone."
"Sammy, if you're up, grab me another beer."
"I'm not getting you another beer, Dean!!"
"Wha-uuuuugggghhhh fine! I'll get it myself. "
Cas looked up at Dean from where he was laying on his lap, "what are you two fighting about now?"
"Nothing. Want anything while I'm up?"
"To remove yourself from my being..?"
Dean blinked for a second, "uh...no like food, or something to drink, or something. I gotta get up anyways cause SAMMY'S BEING AND ASSHAT."
He wormed out from under Cas's head and walked into the kitchen. Cas sat up on the couch and rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hand, "are you coming back?"
"Yeah. What wouldn't I?"
"Then can you bring my some water? I'm parched."
"Sure. Probably cause you slept with your mouth open," Dean adds as he rummaged through the refrigerator.
"Did I? Oh..."
A tiny smile cracks the hunter's face, "relax. It's cute. Besides, I've been told I snore like a bear so we're even."
Cas cocks his head a bit, "cute?"
"Yeah. Cute...ya know...cute." Dean throws a water bottle to him, "catch."
The angel misses the water bottle and it hits the table with a dull thud.
"Dean," Sam calls from another room, "what was that?"
"Don't get your antlers in a twist, Sammy. Its nothing."
He picks the water bottle up off the table and opens it for Cas.
"Thank you. I apologize for my clumsiness."
"Pfft. Don't worry about it. Are you still watching this cheesy rom-com or can I change it?" he asks, sitting back on the couch.
"Still watching."
"Okay. Have you been following the plot line cause I'm so lost." He rested his head on Cas's shoulder, tangling their hands together again.
