Two weeks flew by quickly. The whole group had been preparing a plan for one whole week and spent the second week buying the things they needed for the surprise party for Mikasa.
The group got to know Mikasa more and all had gotten her something for her birthday. Eren and Mikasa often saw one another. Both so oblivious to the feeling in their chest.
Sadly for Eren he still hadn't thought of a present and Mikasa's birthday was tomorrow. He constantly asked for ideas from his friends and family but they weren't much help.
It's a Saturday, in the afternoon and Mikasa's birthday is on Sunday. "Eren could you put these in the basement?" Carla asked placing a box onto of another.
Eren walked down the stairs and looked at a bunch of boxes sitting in front of the door that lead to the basement. "Sure thing." Eren said.
He grabbed the key to the basement and unlocked it, he walked down the wooden stairs and turned the light on before he walked back up.
Eren shoved the key into his pocket and picked up three boxes, one stacked on top of another. He placed the boxes on the floor carefully and went back up to get the rest of the boxes.
Once he got the rest of the boxes, not realizing that one of the boxes had been keeping the door open the door closed behind him as he walked down the stairs.
Eren organized the boxes so that they had more room to store in there. He then made his way back up and saw that the door was closed.
Oh shit... Eren thought. He rushed up to the door and turned the knob but it didn't move. This is why you don't keep the stupid key in your pocket!!!
Eren face palmed at his stupidity. "Mom! Hey! Mom!!" Eren yelled banging on the door.
"Eren?" A faint voice said. Eren could tell it was his father.
"Dad! Hey!! The doors locked I can't open it," Eren began, "but... I have the key with me."
Grisha face palmed, "Eren, how many times must I tell you to put the key out here not in there!" He said.
"I know, I know!" Eren exclaimed, "listen could you please just get me out of here?"
"Ok, I'll call in LockSmith and see what they can do about this," Grisha said grabbing his phone out of his pocket, "here's an idea. Look through some of the photo albums and your stuff."
"What? Why?" Eren asked in total confusion.
"You might find something interesting." Grisha answered and walked to the living room waiting for someone to pick up the phone.
Eren let out a sigh and walked down the stairs. Look through my old stuff and the photo albums, huh? Eren thought. He looked at each box looking at labels.
He then paused when he found his old stuff which were on top of the photo albums box. Eren turned the torch on his phone and approached the dusty boxes.
Slowly he picked the boxes up one by one and looked through them. He found his old Nintendo gadget, a flat soccer ball, toys that he had as a child. Eren smiled at the memories.
After going through his stuff he went through the photo album box and surprised that he found a red scarf inside it.
What the hell is a red scarf doing in this box? He thought but at the same time something about the scarf seemed rather familiar to him. Eren shrugged the thought off and picked up a photo album.
He went through his parents photos, a yearbook of when they were in elementary and in high school. Then he went through a family album.
He saw various pictures of when he was a baby with either his mom or dad, sometimes both. But then he came across a certain photo.
