Betty Cooper thought she had it all. An amazing boyfriend, two great friends, despite her father being a murderer, and her mother's ins and outs with the Farm. She was happy. Riverdale was finally at peace... for now.
Betty's POV
My eyes are tranced on my diary as I write down a few things that happened this past week. Jughead lays lazily beside my on my bed, his body is practically curled around me as his head rested on my lap. I smile down at him for a quick moment, it's rare he is at peace like he is right now. Eyes peacefully closed as he drifts in and out of a dream filled sleep.
Usually, he'd be trying to find some conspiracy to solve. Which, I'm not going to lie, I love doing them with him. It's a bonding experience. I sigh as I finally finish writing, my wrist aching from writing at such an awkward angle for such a long time. I glance back down at Jug and gently comb my fingers through his fluffy hair, he stirred, humming a little as he stretched.
We've been very close lately. Of course, with my mom dating his dad. At first, it was weird, but now its casual, I'm glad my mom is happy.
"Anything you want to do today?" I ask him, continuing to run my fingers through the raven hair. He let out a sleepy sigh. "We should go to Pops with Archie and Veronica." He said quietly, "Later though, I'd rather cuddle." He added, sitting up a little and pulling my close, I smile, leaning against him and gently tilting my head up to press a gentle kiss to his jaw.
Jellybean strolled in my room. "Oh god!" She squeaked, turning away and hiding her face in her hands. Jughead rolled his eyes. "We aren't that bad, Jellybean." He said, in mock annoyance. I had a small smirk on my face as I turned to Jughead and pressed my lips to his, to which he reciprocated.
Jellybean screams in fake agony, running out of my room. I let out a small laugh, pulling away from the kiss and Jughead gives me his signature smirk as we settle back down into the bed.
Soon enough, we arrive at Pops. Just convinced me to let him take his motorbike, to which I protested... until he gave me his puppy dog eyes. I get off the bike, removing my helmet and take Jug's hand. This spring is quite chilly so I pull my hand that isn't be held back into my serpent jacket.
Jug and I made the decision to stay serpent king and queen. It offers help and protection and I love the serpents dearly. I find it funny how quickly my opinion can change on a group of people. Two years ago, I would've ran from this group, now I can't get enough of our late night talks and feasts.
I look in the windows of Pops as we walk towards the building, raising an eyebrow when I see...Veronica with... is that Nick StClair? I squeeze Jug's hand to get his attention, nodding towards the image of Veronica and Nick kissing, his arms wrapped around her waist, hers around his neck.
"Oh my god.." I say, suddenly feeling very sick. "Archie's going to be heartbroken." Jughead murmured. I felt anger spark in me, she gets with Nick?! Out of all people? I start speed walking. "Betty, wait!" Jughead said quickly, trying to stop me.
Anger coursed through me as I walked up to Veronica and Nick. "Veronica!" I exclaim. She pulls away from Nick, I turn around expecting Jug to be right behind me. But it's Archie...
Jughead's POV
Just as I run in behind Archie, I noticed his shoulders slouched. He's obviously shaken up, but also upset. He turns around and walks straight out of Pops. "Archi-" I say, trying to stop him. But he doesn't listen, he gets in his car and leaves quickly.
I turn back to Betty who is reprimanding Veronica. "What the hell, Veronica?" She says, clearly upset. "You're just going to cheat on Nick, just like that?" She snapped her fingers. Veronica's body straightened for a minute and she looked up to Nick. "What the hell? Get away from me creep!" Veronica hissed at Nick.
"What do you mean, sweetheart? You were just kissing me." He gave her a devilish smirk, to which Veronica slapped off his face. "Get out!" She said firmly.
Nick sauntered out of the restaurant. I was now standing beside Betty, silently staring at Veronica with a confused and analytic gaze as Betty scolded her.
"What? I would never cheat on my Archikinz!" She exclaimed, confused. "Well you did." Betty said harshly. "Betty.." I say softly, giving her a look that says 'go easy'.
Betty sighs and nods. "Veronica, you should really go talk to Archie." Betty said lowly. Then, I spoke up. "You don't remember anything about kissing him?" I ask.
"No." She said, shaking her head, her eyes wide in surprise. "Hmm.." I let a small smile creep onto my face as I look down at Betty. Seems like its time for another conspiracy.
