~ Chapter - 5 ~
The first rays of dawn crept through the narrow alleys of the ancient city, casting long shadows that danced across cobblestone streets. Hadrian crouched low, cloaked in darkness, his breath steady and measured as he waited in tense anticipation. Kreacher had informed him of a critical piece of information with his ever-watchful ears: Bellatrix Lestrange was rumoured to arrive shortly, summoned by the Dark Lord to procure rare, illegal ingredients for Snape's nefarious potions. The air was thick with the promise of danger, but Hadrian's resolve hardened; this was his chance.
Suddenly, with a sharp crack that split the morning calm, Bellatrix appeared out of thin air, landing deftly on her feet as she released the portkey's grasp. Her dark robes billowed around her like a storm cloud, but Hadrian was ready. With swift precision, he launched a carefully prepared dose of Propofol from his slingshot, the small vial spinning through the air until it struck its target. Within seconds, Bellatrix's wild eyes lost focus, and she swayed unsteadily, her consciousness slipping away into a fog of oblivion.
Hadrian leapt forward, the thrill of the hunt surging through him, and he deftly collected her unconscious form. He wasted no time; a short incantation sent them both soaring through the air, the familiar rush of magic enveloping them as they travelled at breakneck speed to a distant manor he had claimed for this very purpose—a forsaken estate in Greece that had stood untouched for centuries.
As they arrived, the forgotten manor welcomed him with a familiar yet haunting embrace of old magic. The towering walls blanketed in vines and age, seemed to sigh and reverberate with power, resonating with his presence. He paused momentarily, taking in the energy coursing through the ancient stones, magic that whispered secrets of times long past, intense and demanding.
Gently, he laid Bellatrix down in a room he had designed for her—an imposing space with iron bars and shadows looming menacingly. The walls were inscribed with runes that pulsed softly, their light echoing the weight of their function. He meticulously arranged the tools and artefacts he would need for the interrogation, his mind focused and unwavering.
Moments later, the drug began to wear off, and Bellatrix stirred, her eyes fluttering open to the dim light. Confusion clouded her features as she surveyed her surroundings, bound herself by invisible cords restraining her movements. Panic surged within her as she attempted to break free, a primordial scream erupting from her lips—a sound so piercing that it could shatter glass.
Hadrian turned at the sound, a smirk playing across his lips as he watched her thrash against her bonds. The thrill of the confrontation ignited a fire within him. He raised his wand slightly, murmuring a truth spell that would ensure Bellatrix could only utter the truth from this moment forward. The air thickened with anticipation as he prepared to delve into her dark mind, eager to extract the secrets she held and to answer for her many crimes against him and those he cared for.
"Hello, Bella," Hadrian cooed softly, his tone almost teasing as he watched Bellatrix struggle to rise. Despite her fierce determination, she stumbled and fell, her face meeting the cold, unforgiving ground with a thud.
"How dare you, Potter?" she screeched, fury blazing in her eyes like the fire of a dying star. "My Lord will not leave you alive!" The venom in her voice was palpable, sending a shiver down Hadrian's spine. Unfazed by her threats, he shook his head and saw the chaotic scene around them.
"Bella, you shouldn't talk about your Lord of the house in that way; anyhow, now you are no more a Black being, formerly one you were still under my control, and now you will suffer in my hands for killing my father and former Lord of the house. It is my promise," Hadrian said, and Bellatrix looked at him in shock.
