White string

A young girl desperately wanted to get her ears pierced. She wanted to be like all the other girls in her school who had their ears pierced. After weeks of begging her parents they finally caved and gave her the money to get her ears done. Instead of going to the mall to get her ears pierced professionally, she pocketed the money her parents gave her and got her friend to do it.

The next day she went to school, with pierced ears. She had gotten a bunch of complements on them. She was sitting in class when her ears began to hurt and itch. The girl asked her teacher if she could go to the restroom, her teacher said yes.

When the girl got to the bathroom she looked at her ears in the mirror. They were really red and swollen. She noticed a small white string coming out of her ear. She began pulling and pulling at it until she got tired of pulling. The girl grabbed a pair of scissors she had with her. With one swift chop she cut the string, everything went black.

After a trip to the doctor it was revealed that the white string was her optic nerve, and she'd never be able to see again.
