I could hear her boisterous laugh echoing down the hallway as I sat on the edge of the front desk, waiting. My fingers drummed on the hard wood as my patience thinned, minutes were passing and the laughing was beginning to cease. A swish of long honey brown hair in the corner of my eye caught my attention.

‘You’re fifteen minutes late.’

As she stood in the doorway I understood what her previous teachers had warned me about. Challenge was written all over her features, it glowed from her soft pink lips that smirked as though she knew things all too well. From her wide, vibrant green eyes, filled with a lust for adrenaline, from her stance, confident but with a sense of edge as if she was ready to lash out at any given time.

‘Am I now…’ Her voice was low and alluring… Teasing.

‘Yes’, I sighed. ‘Please sit down Miss Donatella’.

I watched her lashes flutter as she looked me up and down quickly, as if assessing me.

‘Now’ I cautioned.

‘Of course… Mr..?’

‘Oliver.’

‘Ah.’ Her walk was slow and demeaning, infuriating but almost enchanting.

Hips swaying, long legs taking small strides, her tight ripped jeans moulding her thighs perfectly. Beautiful curves.

Clearing my throat loudly in an attempt to clear my disturbing thoughts I watched her take a seat in the back of the classroom.

‘Next time you will not be late.’ My voice sounded deeper than usual.

Concentrate Mark.

‘Is that so?’ She cooed, placing her hands under her chin and resting her elbows on the desk in front of her.

‘Yes. After school detention is demanded for those who choose to continually cause trouble, Florence.’

‘First name basis now, huh? Mark…’ Her Italian accent became obvious as she extenuated the symbols of my name, purposely drawing out the ‘r’ and ‘k’.

‘Apparently.’

My blunt remark seemed to amuse her as a light, innocent smile played on her lips for a few seconds. Only to then be replaced by a hard, emotionless mask.

Is she moody? Was that why she was late? Women problems…?

‘So… Why are you here all of a sudden?’ Florence’s voice was smooth and cold, it was so sudden.

I stuttered, caught off guard. ‘Well… A-ah, I transferred from my home in-‘

‘No,’ she bluntly stated. ‘Why are you my new... Mentor?’
