Birthday Morning

Maya's pov

Half last six and I jump out of bed.
I go to the calender to find the date.
Monday 16 January 2017.
I'm sixteen.
Finally.
I didn't actually want anything to do with today but now that it is here I can't believe it is.
I go my vanity to find a note sticked on my mirror with a present right under it.
I quickly read it and don't take long to open the box.

'Happy Birthday Baby Girl. Me and Shawn wish you a happy day and while knowing you hate them we did arrange a party. Tonight at the Matthews house. Seven-thirty. See you there love you. Mom and Shawn.'

I open the box to find a picture of the three of us at their wedding.
I actually can't believe my luck has turned.
Hope isn't for suckers.
Especially not after what I had found out.
I was feeling a bit weird last night so I did what any girl would do.
I took a pregnancy test not knowing what it would reveal.
With a huge shock looking at the thing and finding it's positive.
I'm pregnant.
I'm gonna be a mom.
And I already know how Josh is going to act.
Of course he is going to be shocked but I think he is going to be happy.
He is going to be a father.
Yes he always said I'm Too Young but what doe sit matter now?
He certainly didn't think about it when we slept together at Ski Lodge.
And maybe he won't ever think about it.
I can just wish but I am way too excited to even think about it.

Maya goes to her closet to get a pair of jeans, a shirt and a oversized hoodie.
She has to hide the pregnancy bump that she did realize when she looked at how her sleepwear was sitting.
But she doesn't want to hide it for very long.
Tonight Josh finds outs.
She knows that for a fact.
She throws the clothes on before she gets her backpack and goes in front.

"Ah there is the birthday girl. Happy Birthday Kiddo," Shawn said giving Maya a hug.
"Thanks Dad," Maya said.

Maya got really used to calling Shawn Dad after he did adopt her on Christmas.
And he didn't thought of it as weird.
But her getting used to everything which was very satisfying.

"Okay so for breakfast is pancakes and fruit salad with coffee. That okay?" Shawn asked.
"Of course but can I have some orange juice instead?" Maya asked.
"Sure," Shawn said giving Maya a plate.

Maya didn't want to have any coffee just because she heard it was a danger for the baby.
She wanted to get everything else done with before she even thought of putting stuff like that in her system.
After she ate she went directly to school just to receive more congrats.

"So how does sixteen feel?" Riley asked while Maya was recovering from the hug.

Of course her best friend waited for her at the entrance knowing she'll spend the morning with her parents.
But Maya was extremely glad to see Riley.

"Like a dream. But first tell me about your date with Lucas," Maya said.

Lucas and Riley have been dating since October which has been a good three months.
Riley was very happy and Lucas did behave like the perfect gentleman.

"Another day but I'll say it's amazing," Riley said and pulled out a box.
"Another charm for your bracelet," Riley said.
"Thanks Riles," Maya said and gave her a hug.
"I heard about the party," Maya said and saw everyone else.

"Ah the birthday girl. Congratulations Maya," Lucas said and gave Maya a quick hug.
"Thanks Huckleberry," Maya said.
"Yeah congrats. Sweet Sixteen must be very exciting," Farkle said.
"Oh shoot. Is it your birthday?" Zay asked.
"Yeah it is," Farkle said.
"Congrats then," Smackle said.
"Yeah congrats. Sixteen is big," Zay said giving Maya a hug.
"Come here," Smackle said also giving Maya a hug.
"Think I'm gonna have a lot of hugs by the end of the day," Maya said and Lucas gave her a bag.
"Something from me, Smarkle and Zay," Lucas said.
"What did you guys get me?" Maya asked confused.
"Open up," Smackle said.

Maya opened the bag to find some new paint brushes and paint.

"Oh my gosh. Thanks guys. I love it," Maya said and Farkle gave her a bag.
"Something from me," Farkle said and Maya opened it to find a picture of her, Farkle, Riley and Lucas on their graduation day of middle school.
"Okay stop spoiling me. Thank you guys. I'm really never gonna forget today," Maya said and the bell rang.
"History time," Farkle said.

The six went into the class and immediately Cory saw Maya.

"Ah my second daughter. Happy Birthday Maya," Cory said giving her a hug.
"Thank you Mr Matthews," Maya said and was giving an envelope.
"Some money from me and Topanga. Take it and no excuses," Cory said.
"Thank you very much."
