Chapter 9 Rat Bite

"Bianca?" Heather blinks, "Why did you follow me?"

Bianca shakes her head, "I didn't follow you kid, it may be a tall building, but one could easily find someone in a closed place." Heather glares at her. Bianca looks behind Heather. "Get down!" She orders in a hushed voice as she pushes Heather into the wall.

"Ouch!"

"Be quiet! Security guards are coming!" Bianca huddles in with Heather as they hide in the corner. Heather listens closely, the security was stomping by.

"Not so sneaky. Great way to alert everyone in the whole-."

"Shut. It. Child."

"Jeez." After what felt like an hour of sitting in the corner, Heather and Bianca make their way out of what seems to be a nice café. "Starbucks?"

"Hurry up." Bianca snaps as she climbs to the next floor. "I'll meet you at the Pendulum." Heather nods and crouches down behind the desk.

"What's that?" Heather digs her hand into an old cabinet. "A rat?"

Heather screeches in pain. The rat had bitten her! She pulls her hand out and scrambles to the railing. The guards heard her scream and were on high alert. Gulping down fear, she pulls her way up to the next floor. The rat bite was on her hand so it wasn't easy.

Once she made it to the next floor, the first thing she saw was Bianca's shoes.

"Are you mad? You just let all of Taiwan that we're here." Bianca grabs Heather by the shirt and throws her up to the floor, landing by Kodi's feet. Evan was nowhere to be seen.

"Where's Evan?" Heather asks, Kodi's eyes cloud with worry.

"I-I don't k-know. I lost him while I was climbing to get away from security."

"And thanks to Heather," Bianca complains while picking up Heather. "They're on high alert now. It'll be risky to continue."

"No! We can't just bail!" Heather cries.

"Thank kid, nice of you to send a missal where we stand. The guards heard that!" Bianca huffs as she grabs Heather by the arm and starts running, along with Kodi. The guards thunder behind them, screaming something Heather couldn't understand in Chinese. Bianca slowly lost grip and Heather falls behind them.

"Heather!"
