CHAPTER -1

"I will kill you, no one will save you and your family this time"his evil voice was echoing everywhere,he was laughing histerically which was making her shiver. She was screaming for help but no one dared to help her, infact now everyone was laughing histerically " all of you are monsters I HATE ALL OF YOU, go on kill me I'm not afraid of you any more". He brought his face near her and put his index finger on her lips "Hush....Hush....princess you will wake up everyone,I will not kill you so soon baby" and he kicked her in the belly she almost stopped breathing. She heard breaking of bones blood was coming out of her mouth. And that monster dragged her unconscious body to the edge of the bridge and screamed" bye bye PRINCESS SEE U IN HELL" & her body was in the air, as if she was in peace finally no worry no friends no pain no sorrow, as if she was floating butterflies in her stomach, when she use to sit on the swing. The time her body touched the water it started drowning, she was trying very hard to swim, this is impossible how come she cannot swim ?? she was a champion in her school, but her body was aching ,she was tired she started feeling suffocated , she tried to open her eyes, and her vision was blurred everyone was just watching her dieing. Her body was going deep inside the river and she was trying her best to come towards the surface. She gave up and darkness consumed her.

"Amy.....Amy.....Am....am...." She was listening voices someone is calling her name. She opened her eyes immediately after recognising the voice. As if someone has burned her by their touch. She looked around and shighed deeply she was dreaming and was in her room in her own bed... But wait the bed is wet due to her sweat. Her mom's big blue eyes was inspecting carefully.Any one can tell that her mom was concern.
"Amy it was just a dream baby, are you okay....you are sweating,

"Yes mom I'm ok..." I released a shaky breadth and rubbed my face with my palm. I removed the blanket and got down from the bed , and went straight to the washroom and closed the doors behind me.
" Shit I look pail, and all my night gown is wet" becase of so much sweat.
I did my morning routines and took a nice and comfy bath.
When I came out of the bathroom my mom was still there sitting at the edge of my bed and she was looking towards the big window.

" Why.....are you still here???" I asked her without looking at her and started searching for my dress, " I'm worried about you amy, this is the  3rd time you are having nightmares in this month"there was consern in her voice.
"It's ohk, you don't have to worry about me mom, and where is my red gucchi dress please tell the house help not to touch my things," I was still not looking at her, I put some makeup on my face and tied my hair in a high pony tail.

"It's ok if you don't want to talk about it, I will wait till the day you will speak about it, and I have sent your dress for dry cleaning I will inform the house help to bring it to you," she came near me and kissed my shoulder and left the room.

I shighed in relief, I can't be so vulnerable infront of all people they will think I'm weak. Suddenly there was a knock on my door." Who's it??"
" Ma'am, it's Nancy I brought your dress , may I come in ma'am?"
"Yes you can" I said in a very bossy way.
She opened the door and she kept the dress on my bed, she is the only house help I like, because she is a student and I brought her here and I operated on her mother, she offered me money for the surgery but I didn't took it from her,she is a very bright student and want to be a lawyer in future.
But there economic condition was not so good and her mom couldn't efford her studies. So I offered her to help my mom in our house so she can complete her studies and can earn some pocket money also.

"Nancy... how are your studies going?" I asked her and started inspecting my dress."Good ma'am, this year I came 1st in my class," she said with a big smile on her face her eyes were twinkling out of excitement, as if she was keeping a secret for a long time and finally she can tell someone.

"Good....keep the good work , you know right you have to achieve your goals," she nodded her head vigorously, I know she can I always keep a track of her academics.
"You may go now Nancy, & is the breakfast ready?"
"Yes ma'am, everyone is waiting for you" she almost whispered the last part, I nodded and she left the room.

I wore my body hugging dress, it's a sleeveless knee length pencil red dress, I took my apron and my stethoscope and locked my room with passwords, and went down stairs.

Everyone was screaming on the table, yeah this is my joint family but I don't live here I live in Washington DC.
Here in Florida my parents got married, and they got divorced also.
My mom live's with my grandmother ( my father's mother) they both love each other a lot my dad who lives in Paris with his gf and passion.He pays visit here once in a year, and because of my grandfather everyone is staying together as a joint family. Except me, I  have to travel a lot and I don't like to stay in so much Chaos, but my grampy made a strict rule that I will pay them a visit in Florida every month atleast once and will try to spend the Christmas with them. I love him and' Nannie' my grandmom and can't disobey them so I live have to come here. But this time it is out of emergency, because I have a patient here and I can't stay at a hotel. I'm treating the barristers wife, today she will undergo angioplasty and I can't be late.

As soon as I entered the kitchen everyone became silent on seeing me, and started eating food. I sat beside my grampy and kissed his cheeks "good morning grampy"I greeted him with a smile.
"Good morning Am", he kissed my temple.
I started munching on my pasta," soo.. it's a big day for you?"
"Mmhmmm.." I nodded in agreement, yes it was indeed a big day for me.
" Are you nervous??" He asked and there was he, worried for me.
"What for??, I'm one of  the best cardiothoracic surgeon of Washington, and I'm good at my job, I'm confident about everything" I said nonchalantly. Grampy patted my head  softly and smiled at my answer.
As soon as I finished my food I went out of the house and my assistant was waiting in front of my new BMW. She greeted me "Good morning Dr.Amy"
" Good morning Dr. Stacy, all set for today's operation?" She nodded her head timidly. She is a junior resident practicing under me ,an obidient student. But I don't know why she is afraid of me.
