Seulgi stuck a hand out, watching the droplets of rain collect into the small cup of her palm. Her suitcase was tightly tucked against her side.

It seemed like a sound idea at first. But now she's starting to think leaving without a plan was rather impulsive of her. But at least she found the adventure thrilling. It's the first time she felt free. Like she can breathe without any restrictions, without having to fear being judged by her mother.

She found herself wandering to a side of her city she never knew existed. Streets were dimmer despite being littered left and right with convenience stores, 24-hour fast food restaurants, and establishments light with neon signs.

A wave of excitement washed over her. There were different types of people up and about. People dressed differently here. Ladies walked along the streets in their short dresses and high heels. They would talk and laugh loudly amongst themselves. Some of them in the arms of intoxicated men.

She was very far from home.

But just as she was beginning to get acquainted with her new environment, it started pouring. People are running off to their own places to escape the rain. Except for her. She had nowhere to go. She had no idea where she was.

So instead she ran into a back alley, the tiny wheels of her luggage loudly clacking against the cobbled stone path. She found a small spot near the fire escape of a building, sat on the steel steps, and waited for the rain to stop or dwindle just enough for her to find a better place to rest at. Maybe even stay for the night.

Jinyoung discarded his jacket into the hamper before retreating to his room. Another day of work and things were getting to be to stagnant, too boring for him. He looked out his window. It's the same thing for the past years. The center of sin and temptation.

Everything is the same except for that flash of white that caught his eyes. The figure is bathe with the luminescence of the flashing red sign of the building across the street.

Alas. Maybe something new. Something different.

With his black umbrella, he stepped up to the figure crouched against the steel stairs. The woman looked up at him, small eyes yet ironically still doe-looking.

"Do you need help?" He showed her a disarming smile. "My name is Jinyoung."

He has cute dimples, she noticed. She stared.

What are you doing, Seulgi? Get your act together. This a stranger in front of you.

"Don't worry, I don't bite." He seemed to have read her mind. "I just thought you might wanna get out of this rain."

He may be a stranger, but she needs a shelter. Her survival needs trump her mother's irrational fear of guys and strangers in general.

She took his hand.
