Batman Fall of Knights

I AM THE NIGHT

Batman sits there in the pouring rain, holding Nightwing's lifeless body in his arms. "I'm sorry, Dick. I failed you. I failed at being a good leader and mentor for you. I will be th Night." Batman calls Ra's Al Ghoul.

"I need you to pick up Nightwing and take him to the Lazarus pit. I'm going after the Grim Knight. He won't win. Don't get Dick hurt by any means. Take good care of him, and take in to account him being the same after", informs Batman. "I understand. I will be there soon", says Ra's al Ghoul. Batman calls in the Batwing.

It lands and he enters. He begins to fly to the Batcave. He looks at the time. 9:50, 1 hour after saving Quinn. He flys with utter regret. "I couldn't save Dick." Batman gets a call from Robin, but the signal is gone and static. "What the Hell is going on?" worries Batman. He begins to fly faster.

He arrives while being nervous. Batman lands inside, gets out, and notices the door was blown open. The smell of smoke and gunfire filled the air. "I'm to late", sighs Batman as he runs inside. He sees Alfred on the floor with blood coming from his right leg.

Batman aids him with medical healing. "The Grim Knight tried getting Joker, but Master Drake got him in time. He's hiding him", explains Alfred. Batman apologizes but Alfred tells him there is no need. After he patches Alfred up, he walks to a crying bruised Harley Quinn.

"Quinn, talk to me. Are you ok?" ask Batman. "Y-y-yes. Bird boy took Mista J, but that other Bat shot the Butler guy. Robin followed his mission. The other you is scary", Harley Quinn sniffles. Batman wipes the tears. "Don't worry. I'll stop this."

Alfred sits in a chair, resting his eyes. Batman dashes over to the Bat computer. Robin left a message that says, "I'm headed to Sionis." Batman realizes the Grim Knight already read the message. "Quinn, come with me. We're getting Joker", demands Batman. "Ok, I'm coming", says Harley as she walks with Batman. Batman calls Catwoman, but it keeps going to voicemail.

This worries him, as Harley and him enter the Batmobile Mk2.5. Different scenarios play out in his head. Is she alive? Is she dead? The answer is unknown. Batman drives out of the Batcave as fast as he can to Sionis. As he drives through the night, he ask Harley a question. "Can you shoot me if the Joker toxin gets me?"

"Are you ok Bman, your not acting right?" ask Harley. Batman nods. She sighs, "This isn't gonna end well for Mista J. Something tells me you won't let the Grim Knight win", she says. "Yes, yes, and yes. The Grim Knight thinks differently. He uses weapons instead of his mind. That's his weakness. I know how to get to him", Batman assures as he continues to drive.

They pull up to Sionis, no Robin in sight. Just the Grim Knights Batmobile parked. Batman throws a tracking device on it. They walk in, seeing the Grim Knight hunt for Joker.
"Tim knew he'd be here. He tricked the Grim Knight. Smart, Tim", thinks Batman.

"It's over. Your weak and can't do anything without weapons", says Batman to the Grim Knight. Batman's scanner shows Robin at Panessa Studios. "Where is Joker? I'll kill Robin if you don't tell me!", yells the Grim Knight, lowering his gun.

"First you tell me where Selena is. Quit crying and quit asking where Joker is. I'm already planning to take the toxin out of Joker", explains Batman. The Grim Knight smiles, "The only way to get it out is by killing him. It will kill him and release still of you take it out. The best way is to kill him and not have it spread to anyone but you. You must become the one who laughs. The new Batman who laughs. Oh, and selena won't be coming back."

"Why?", questions Batman. The Grim Knight reaches in of his satchel. He pulls out Catwoman's head and throws it on the ground by Batman's feet. Harley backs up with fear. Batman crumbles at Selena's lifeless face. Batman charges at the Grim Knight, grinding his teeth together. The Grim Knight dodges, punching Batman in his face.

*pow*

GCPD arrive in seconds. The officers quickly enter with guns pointed at the Grim Knight. Harley quietly hides behind a box. The Grim Knight doesn't hesitate. He takes out 2 M4A1's and fires them, bullets ripping through their bodies, blood leaking everywhere, and police pistol bullets doing no damage to him. One officer tries running up to him, but is killed with a knife thrown to his head.

Batman gets fueled with anger. He dashes over to the Grim Knight, tackling him to the ground. He pounds his face with clobbering punches. "This is my Gotham City, go back to your own!", yells Batman as he continues to punch the Grim Knight.

He kicks Batman off of him, gets up, then throws a smoke pellet on the ground. He escapes. Batman sees a time bomb in the corner that reads 10 seconds. Batman runs over to Harley Quinn. He picks her up, runs to the door, and jumps out as the explosion erupts. Batman covers Harley Quinn with his body.

The crackling burning wood sounds fill the night air. Batman gets off and lays on his back breathing heavy, trying to catch his breath. The smoke made Harley cough. She noticed the tiny cracks and cuts in Batman's armor. "Ah, my back", Harley gets up. She dust herself off while Looking at Batman's tears flow slowly down his cheek. "I failed Catwoman. I don't want any more people dead."

"Look Bman, I just want to not be involved in your mess, but I'll help so Mista J doesn't get hurt", says Harley. Batman gets up. More police arrive to the scene including Gordon. "Why are there two Batmen? What the Hell happened?", ask Gordon. Batman looks at him and says, "It's a long story Jim. It's me, but the Grim Knight is back. He wants me to become the Batman who laughs, but I'll stop him. I have to."

"Ok, we are here to help if you need it", nods Gordon. Batman and Harley jump into the Batmobile. "Listen Jim, I don't want anymore people get hurt from what I do", insist Batman. "Just know Batman, I'll be there", argues Gordon. Batman drives off onto the road. He sees the Grim Knight on the radar, headed to Sheldon Park where Robin is located. "How the Hell did he find him?", says Batman confused.
