Anxiety picked around Hornet as she listened carefully to a fight inside the Black Egg. She could hear the sounds of nail against nail, splats of infection and the eerie screeches that would uncontrollably erupt from her half-sibling while the other spoke of silence. She peered inside, having to walk in further to see the battle. She knew the Knight could not do this on their own, she needed to help them otherwise the future would be bleak. The thought came to her, she recalled the Knight could enter being's dreams as they had attempted to enter her's. The Hollow Knight was a mere imperfect shell created to house the Higher Being who started the infection, perhaps all they needed was someone to get them down. Guilt nagged at her from the thought of hurting her already broken sibling, but to end this sacrifices would have to be made. She breathed in and treaded inside, she just needed the perfect moment. As she entered she felt a intense building heat, along with voices whispering all around her. One voice was indescribable in what it spoke, the other expressed the greatness of light. She was not familiar to the first one, but the second one had always reoccurred in her mind. Trying to infect her as well, but her will was too strong. Her body felt like it was stuck to a web but she persisted onward, she knew she could not be in here long. She stood near the entrance to the arena, seeing the battle happen head on. She gazed in horror as she watched her half-sibling begin to stab the infection that eroded their chest and stomach, helplessly trying to rid of it. The guilt came back, but she had to be brave. The thought of her mother came into her mind as her attention went down to her needle, a weapon molded from pale ore only for her to wield expertly. She took up her needle, though shakily, and waited. All she needed was the right time, so she could suppress them. As she waited she began to take deeper breaths, causing her to gain more focus. She watched the Knight narrowly dodge attacks, the Hollow Knight starting to spew orange puss from their chest. It felt as if everything slowed around her, the Hollow Knight stood up and she saw her chance. She propelled her needle straight into the injury their face bared, a horrid crack emitting from the puncture which signaled her entry. The sound itself caused her to wince as if their pain was shared, nevertheless she pulled herself over and onto her sibling's head. She positioned herself on them and pushed them downward with the force of her legs along with needle, managing to hold them still as the Knight watched.
"I'm sorry." She whispered to her half-sibling, she quickly looked to the Knight and called to them to enter. She watched as their nail began to emanate with a bright essence, slicing into their sibling's mind. At contact she felt a force knock her backward, falling off her sibling and feeling the impact of stone beneath her. Her body lay still, her head ached and she felt she could no longer move. All she could feel was darkness beginning to envelop her.
