Chapter 12 (birthday dinner)

"Thanks guys" Anna and I said in unison. We look around the table to see our friends sitting with us. We were at Abacus in Dallas for mine and Anna's birthday dinner. The décor of the restaurant was beyond exquisite. A white table cloth was laid over a reddish purple cloth. We all sat in white plush seats. In the center was a glass bowl with gold fish swimming around and a pink orchid stuck out.

I picked up my wine glass that was filled with Blackbird Vineyards, Proprietary Horizontal, Napa Valley 2011.

The dark purple drink swirling in the glass and I twist the glass between my thumb and pointer. My eyes scan the group of people that surrounded me at this large table. Next to me on my left was Anna and on my right was Harry. Usually that space was where Niall would sit, but he couldn't make it tonight. He had a hot date and I was proud of him, he was slowly getting over Anna and for that, I allowed him to go out. Next to Zayn sat David and next to him was Carter and next to her was Jasper and Ashton, his boyfriend. Next to Harry was Louis and next to him was someone who I would never think would be here. I never hated her, but her pure raging jealousy of her man and my best friend having relations tore us apart. Louis was also the reason for our ended friendship, but just the mere thought of me and her boyfriend's one night standwas enough to ruin a relationship. She thought I was choosing sides, but she was wrong. Now here she was, Abby, it's been 3 years since she had sat with me at my birthday dinner.

It's weird to say this, but I slightly miss our friendship dearly. She was one of the girlfriends I had in college and in life. I have known her since 9th grade and for our friendship to have ended the summer before year 2 of college, upsets me, but I eventually got over it.(a/n: It might of said in another chapter that they started being friends her first year of college, but if it said that somewhere, I apologize. Forget what whatever that chapter was said, I believe it was the mall chapter, but this chapter is more accurate. Just to clear the air for y'all).

"Thanks for coming everyone" I said after I set my wine glass down. We had just finished dinner and was about to beginning present opening.

"So who's first?" Anna asked.

"Ooo us" Carter yelled. Thank god we were in a private part of the restaurant. She passes us both a small long rectangular box. We both open it and find charm bracelets. A bear charm on both of ours and also a wine glass.

"Baylor bear, and the wine glass because you guys are finally 21!" I don't know what has gotten into Carter, but she's a lot cheerier tonight.

"Thank you" we say in unison. Anna and I get up and hug our two friends.

"Us next" Jasper yells. He gets up and picks up 2 boxes from the present table.

He comes back with 2 big boxes. He hands one to me and one to Anna. We rip off the wrapping paper. Inside my box was a pair of beige Christian Louboutins Mary Jane daffodile.

"Omg!!" I scream. I have been wanting these for I don't know how long. In Anna's box were the same ones, but in black.

"Omg, we can share" Anna laughed.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you" we screamed, kissing Jasper and Ashton's cheeks.

"You're welcome loves" they both said. Ashton's Aussie accent so thick.

"How can anyone top that?" Abby said.

"I don't know" Jasper said, pretending to flip his invisible hair.
