~Promise~

I quietly hummed as I watered the plants in the garden. The wind blew and it was becoming a little brisk outside, due to the setting sun. I stopped when I felt the presence of someone else enter the area.

"Yes Tamara?" I said as I turned around and looked at her. She was a student who attended the school.

"Lulu says she needs to see you. In her office." she said looking at the black roses I was watering.

"Right this moment?" I asked her. Tamara shook her head yes. I sighed as I put down the spray bottle I was holding. I followed Tamara in the house then went into Madame Lulu's office to see her sitting at her desk playing with a dream catcher. I cleared my throat and she looked up at me.

"You wanted to see me?" I asked.

"Yes, I did. Promise baby, tell me how good you are when dealing with evil?" she said, putting her feet up on the desk.

"Well, my definition of evil and yours are two different things." I said.

"That's very true." she laughed. "I think you can handle it. With your father being who he is and your knowledge and power of darkness, you should be excellent."

"Excellent for what?"

"We should be getting a new student in the next hour or so. The council ordered for him to have some type of mentor, you know, like extra help." she said. "I don't think any of the other students or myself would understand him and his situation more than you would. That's why I called for Tamara to go and get you."

"Oh. What happened? If I may ask." I said. The fact that the council ordered for him to have a mentor, it automatically means that hes labeled as a danger or a hazard to society. Normally endangered teens come to this school because they want or need to learn how to control their powers and learn more about themselves.

"Strangled three teens to death, all at the same time, set fire to a church, and burnt his parents house to a crisp while they were inside."

"My goodness are they okay?"

"The teens? Of course not. The parents? Hanging by a thread."

"He did all this using his powers?" I asked. She nodded her head. "That's cool, yet very sad at the same time." Lulu laughed a little.

"So are you up for it?" she asked.

"Yeah, sure. It's not like I have anything else to do." I said.

"Wonderful. I'll tell you when he arrives." she said. I nodded my head and left out her office. I went into the room that I shared with Destiny, another student. I sat down at my black vanity and looked at myself in the mirror. I took my dark brown hair out the bun it was in and began to brush it. As I brushed it, it began to turn jet black like it normally did. I shook my head at the sight and let it down. I got up and went downstairs and sat on the couch next to a boy named Miko. He was tall, lean, and dark skin. His eyes were a pretty hazel shade.

"What did she want?" Tamara asked.

"We're getting a new student and she wants me to tutor him." I said.

"Oooo. Whats his name? What does he look like? How old is he?" Karissa said. Out of everyone, she'd be the one to have fifty-two boyfriends in a year, one for every week.

"Karissa, I don't think you'd want him." I told her honestly.

"Why? What's wrong with him?" she asked.

"He's like me." I said simply.

"Wait, who's worse? Like who should I be more afraid of." Tamara said.
