Thomas woke up early in the morning, as he is used to helping out around the house. He is always trying to keep busy with fixing things up around the house. He roamed around the house getting things ready, wary of the noise he was making so he wouldn't wake the girls. He put the kettle on set two cups on the counter for the girls; he also put on a pot of coffee. He made himself a quick breakfast of toast with strawberry jam. He wrote a note on the fridge for the girls if they got up early looking for him. The note read "Out in the barn if you need anything help yourselves to whatever you like." He filled his thermos with the coffee from the pot he put one milk and one sugar in as; he stuffed the toast down as he wanted to get a few things down before the girls woke up. The morning was a typical morning for this part of the country. The sun had just started to rise, still hidden beneath the tree line. There was a light frost on the ground, the grass crunched lightly as he walked across the field to the barn. The barn was above average-sized, it had a bright silver steel roof that could be seen miles away depending on the light that hit it. There was a big sliding door in the front with a normal door to the side.
He unlocked the side door of the barn, walking inside he looked around for the breaker box. Once he found it he flipped the switch, the hum of electricity filled the barn with its generous light. His eyes locked on the very thing he wanted to fix, the blue tractor that his grandfather was always trying him to look at what was wrong with. He took a look around the workbench for his grandfather's lucky toolbox but couldn't find it. Something that his grandfather said that made him chuckle, "every tool you're going to need will be in my toolbox, there's no job that my toolbox can't fix." Thomas walked over to the tractor; he was surprised to see that the toolbox was on the seat of the tractor. He shook his head thinking of his grandfather again before he got to work.
The sun was starting to peek through the windows of the barn when he realized he probably should head back to the house and wash up. Thomas wiped his hand off with the red grease rag that was in the toolbox. He picked up the toolbox, set it down on the workbench before turn the power off to the barn. He left the barn walking across the field to the house, the morning dew now dazzling the field with simmers of light. He walked up to the back porch, kicking off his work boots before entering the house. He walked up to his bedroom to take a shower, he entered the bathroom took off his clothes, he turned on the shower as he waiting for the water to warm he picked out some clothes to wear. He hopped into the shower the hot water slight searing his skin, as he washed his body he could hear a knocking on the bedroom door.
He hopped out quickly wrapping a towel around his waist, answer the door still dripping wet with steam swirling off his body. There stood Aliyah, her face flushed red, stammering her words. "I am so sorry I didn't know you were in there, Olivia said there was a note on the fridge saying you were out in the barn." Thomas was standing there listening to her fumble her words. He said to her, "I just got back in it totally slipped my mind; I thought I had enough time to shower before you woke up". Its fine she said "but umm... When you are ready would you show me around the farm, I would love to see the beautiful trees. Thomas smiled as he said "yes I can do that for you girls" she said "can it just be me and you? Olivia has gone back to bed, she is out for another few hours." Thomas laughed as he said yes to her request. He joking said "give me a minute to get dressed, unless you want to come in and wait for me." Aliyah turned and even brighter red with Thomas's joke, telling him in a flustered tone "I can wait for you downstairs." Thomas said "okay" as he shut the door. Aliyah walked downstairs to the kitchen, She put the kettle on as she waited for it to boil she sat at the small kitchen table. She couldn't help but picture his hot steaming body, she felt embarrassed thinking of it. She never really thought of men being hot or anything really, She was always so focused on her studies that she realized what she had missed.
