Even with just a month working at the provincial hospital, Alex must say that her coworkers are very good in their respective professions. She has learned from them as much as to her superior. They work like a fine tune orchestra.

This is nothing new.

Like a cloak she donned her professional self and rushed to aid the patients.

Patients who apparently are humongous of men. Even Troye who stood above the ER workers at 6 feet looks like a midget to them. The two roughed up guys carried in between them an unconscious bloody man.

"I'm Dr Alex. What happened?" Alex moved quickly ordering others to get a stretcher and get his vitals.

The two guys seemed to be at lost, "We--ugh...".

There are many kinds of relative who come in their complex, and with all those kind she hates this the most. Ninnies who can't say or act quickly when the situation demands them.

"Look all I know is what I can see, but it would greatly help us if you could provide a history of what happened so we can help him better." Putting on her professional smile to hide her irritation.

"Dr Alex you gotta see this!" Troye yelled from their trauma room. They have cut most of his clothing revealing multiple cuts on him. His tan skin can't mask the paleness that is creeping in. Shallow breaths came out fast from his lips. There are multiple bruises forming at his chest.

Juliana is putting pressure to his mangled right leg which seems to seep out bright blood even though bandaged.

"His airway is not compromised, but his chest looks bad and the blood pressure is getting low. And this leg, this one looks arterial." Juliana shooks her head.

Alex took a deep breath. "Ok. First get put him on double line of fluids, ready me some bandages and surgical set, and call Dr Yang."

Your team nodded and went to work. After further assessment, he seems to have multiple lacerations and fractures, possible contusion, but the most worrying at that moment was his arterial blood loss. They need to start on that asap. Alex looked at the door to look for his companions and saw another one is added to the group. He stepped forward to her.

"Where is Dr Yang?"

"He is coming back shortly. I'm Dr Alex his resident who is managing your patient's case. For now we really need to know his history and other comorbidities. Do you know what happened?"

His eyes showed blatant distrust at you. "I would like to talk with Dr Yang."

Alex' annoyance just shot up. So now they are distrusting you? Just because I'm a woman? Or my ethnicity? This fools who doesn't know shit-

Alex stalled. A voice rang through her head, "Manage your anger. It doesn't help."

Taking a deep breath, she gave a frustrated smile "Look Dr Yang was called out for emergency at a nearby clinic but we have already called him. I assure you we will manage him with the best of our capabilities either so. The two with him hasn't provided as with anything. Your patient has multiple injuries in him and we need to run some ancillaries and possibly a transfusion. He is losing blood too quickly."

Stark ocean eyes glared at her and Alex reciprocated as much she can even if she is a foot smaller. Her team is doing the best they can and this doofus will not cross them. With a frustrated sigh and a rough hand at his messed up hair, "We got on a brawl with a gang. "

Her eyebrows quirked, "You gotta give us much more to work with."

"They were on a fight. They got him pretty bad."

Deep breath. Deep breath. "Where you there at the scene? How was his head hit?"

"No."

Deep breath. "Ok fine. Do you know if he has any underlying medical condition? Any allergies? blood type?"

"No."

Deep bre- f*ck this. "Do you even know an-" A strong grip latched into your arm and that ever so courteous Dean went inbetween the two of you.

"Dr Alex we've readied the materials. As of now the patient has been stabilized."

Thank you for this sweet man. "Thank you Dean. Can you take from here and get the papers signed."

"Will do."

Alex turned inside. Her anger management has been stellar ever since but this humongous beast strikes her as easily as a bell. But this is not the time. With a deep breath, Alex donned her gloves and worked on her patient.

----------------------------

After a call with Dr Yang, she was left nonetheless wiser.

"Dr I have already repaired his ruptured artery and ran a liter of fluids. The blood pressure is getting better but I think we need to do a transfusion, there has been a significant blood loss."

Dr Yang has been silent for a few moments before he responded, "Alright. But use the Xr blood."

"Sorry? The crossmatch showed he's B+. I'm planning on running whole blood first-"

"No. Use the Xr blood. Transfuse it for at least 3 hours. I'll be back by then."

"Um, not to disrespect you Dr Yang but I don't think there's is any Xr blood."

Silence. After a few moments, Dr Yang sighed. "Just order it. It will be on the dispensary. I'll talk to you then when I come back."

"But doctor-"

"Just do it Alex. Call me if anything happens." He then hanged up.

Alex remained at the trauma room staring intently at the man. Apparently Dean has been better at extracting information  at the infuriating man who calls himself Blake. She huffed, how cliche is that. Blake with the blue eyes and dirty blond hair.

Either way, after that hassle, Alex has been transfixed to the star of her night. Emerson Iver, 32 years old, single, apparently a businessman, living at Auscher land. Probably at 6'4'', with dark silky hair. She prides herself that she conducts herself professionally  all the time on duty but she can't help to appreciate as he is a handsome man. Deep set eyes adorned by long lashes, chiseled jaw, muscles only bought at the gym- even unconscious he's definitely a looker. But after that fleeting appreciation of his physique, that is not what made her engrossed to the man. No, after all she is a woman of science.

And those deep lacerations, abrasions, and bruises littered at his body shouldn't definitely be clearing up right now.
