I was his, he was mine but I saved him the pain. The pain I would have caused if he could see what a coward I was. Instead of staying like I promised I ran leaving nothing but a record saying words I wish I could take them all back but what's done is done. I thought my insecure self could be contained but I was so wrong I-
"Miss Rose someone is here to see you" My receptionist buzzed through the intercome.
"Send them up" I said softly
The name is Camilla Amanda Rosalee Ellis but when I left the states two years ago and moved to Canada I changed my name to Amanda Rose so no one could trace me out. I moved here for a fresh start, I even changed my career path instead of doing business I started my wedding planning and interior designing company from bottom up. I'm proud of my success but I still fear being popular in Canada I wanted to hide not make history.
A knock pull me from my thoughts "Come in" I said with a smile. In came my two favourite client.
"Mr and Mrs. Anderson to be, to what do I owe this pleasure?" I asked not expecting them so soon.
"Manda somethng came up" Lilly rushed out
I look at both with confusion "May I ask what your talking about?" I questioned
"We'll be leaving the country for an emergency and won't be back until the set date for the wedding" Luke said a lot calmer than Lily
"So are you going to cancel the wedding?" I asked them
"No are you insane" Lilly said and I laugh
"So you guys are leaving right?" they nod "You are'nt comming back until the wedding day?" they nod again "And you are'nt going to cancel the wedding?" They shook their head this time "Okay I'm confuse" I said truthfully
"Oh Manda we are leaving the planning up to you and the best man" Lilly said and Luke nod
"So what happened to you maid of honour?" I asked
"Did you not read our notes in the form we filled out?" Lilly said rolling her eyes I smiled feeling guilty.
I took up the the papers and read through Maid of Honour: Amanda Rose and a gasp looking up at Lilly a bright smile playing on her face.
"You chose me to be your maid of honour?" I asked my voice came out a little shaky
"Yes, you're my best friend manda I would'nt trust anyone else with this job" she said smiling
I got up and gave her a hug and whispered a small thank you.
"My brother will be here tomorrow" Luke said I nod and they left.
I did'nt expect to be the maid of honour at a wedding I was planning it's a bit suprising if you ask me. I left the office around 7 to have dinner with my parents. I parked my black BMW X6 and enterned the resturant.
"Good evening ma'am do you a reservation?" The girl at the desk asked me
"Yeah, table for three under Ellis" I said smiling
"Right this way" she said directing me towards the back were my parents are patiently waiting.
"Thank you" I said sitting down. I greeted my parents with a smile in which they returned. The waitress came and took our orders and left a bottle of champaigne on thd table. I didn't drink so I didn't pay any mind to the it.
"So Camilla are you still not talking to your father?" My mother asked
"Yes mother, fath-" I was cut short by my father.
"How many times do you want me to apologize Camilla?" He asked his voice sounding tired.
To be honest I love my parents but what my father did made me so angry. After I left the states when I was 20 years old I told my parents that I wanted to explore the world before I moved here in Canada I was in France for a few months and my father went around telling everybody that his wonderful daughter is exploring the world starting in France I was beyond pissed because I told them especially him that I did'nt want anybody to find me and he went and did that. He apologize and I forgave him I went to Canada without telling anyone I kept in touch with them as usual I didn't let them know where I was until a week ago. This time instead of telling people where I was he posted a picture of my business on facebook with a caption that said 'Look what Camilla has been up to' and he even tag me in the picture I was beyond livid I had him take down the picture and I hadn't spoken to him since. I don't know what I'm so worried about Daniel probably doesn't even remember me but I still couldn't risk being found.
"Father I love you but right now I kinda hate you" I said to him my voice ending thd conversation.
A few moments later.....
I was on my way home when I got a text from an unknown number.
Unknown:
Meet me at 'sweet tooth' cafe tomorrow for the details on Luke's and Lilly's wedding.
I guess that was Luke's brother. I placed the phone back in my handbag and continue my journey home.
I parked in my garage and closed the gate and the garage door and enter the house and went straight to the kitchen for a glass of water.
'Welcome home Rosalee' the siri like thing I installed in the house said to me. I didn't pay it any mind I just drank my water and went to take a shower.
After I finished with my shower I went to check my phone and saw 1 new message and 25 missed calls. The message was from Luke's brother.
Unknown:
8'o clock sharp. Or don't bother show up
Me:
I'm the planner here not you😥
Unknown:
What do you suggest then Miss. Rose? Because I'm a very busy man and I don't have time to waste
Me:
I didn't ask for your help. I can take care of this wedding by myself
Unknown:
Oh but you do need my help, after all 'I hold the handle and you hold the blade'
Unknown:
8'o clock sharp. Good night Rosey😉🌷
I rolled my eyes and shut my phone off and went to bed.
