I guess I'm going to California then. I hate to admit it but Nick's right. Since my brother got shot everything changed. I know that it was 4 years ago but I guess I'm just a bit um. Traumatised. Ye I saw it. I was with him when it happened and in the hospital. I hadn't realised I had tears running down my face until nick knocked me out of my thoughts. "Look I'm sorry T I just don't want anything to happen to you." "No. It's okay you're right. When do we leave?" "Tomorrow morning. 3:45 is when our plane leaves." "Okay. I can work with that" after I said that we both looked in each other's eyes and laughed so hard. "You know I always gotta look good" "I know Tony. Well you should probably go pack. It's already 3pm" "Okay imma come back at 9ish with Ondreaz" "Cool bye bro" "Bye"
Timeskip When I was done packing it was only 7:30. Nick had texted me saying he was gonna come over to my house at 8 to chill say bye to my mom and pick up our suitcases. His mom had come home so he was gonna bring her so that our families could just chill. I decided to FaceTime some people from school to tell them I was leaving. After 30 minutes I heard Nick and his mom's voices. I ended the FaceTime and ran downstairs to the kitchen where they both were talking to my mom. "Tony, thanks for finally joining us." "Nice to see you too mom" "Hi Tony. It's so nice to see you again it's been a while" "It's nice to see you too Mrs. Austin." "Tony" He said walking towards me "Nick" I said hugging him. He me back and I felt him smile into my shoulder and heard his adorable laugh. Then I saw his juul sticking out of his pocket. I quickly took it out hoping he wouldn't notice then slid it into my own. I want him to go at least one night without it. I know he probably has more. I have a collection of his juuls in a box in my room. I already have about nine of them from the past week of us hanging out. I'm not a hypocrite I do vape but not as much as Nick. I vape two or three times a day. Nick vapes 6-7 times a day. On a good day. "What got you laughing like that" I whisper in his ear. "Nothing" he said back
We talked for a while and then Nick's mom asked me a question. "So Tony. You know Nick had a crush on you in sophomore year." "MOM!" "No no nick I wanna see how your mom's story goes" I said knowing it was an embarrassing subject for him but also wanting to find out more because my crush liked me back at one stage. "He came home every night I was home and talked to me about you endlessly." "How much did he tell you ma'am" "What didn't he tell me more like." "Nick you want a little competition with me" "What's the competition" "See how much you know about me." "Okay" "Let's start easy. When's my birthday?" "August 19th. That was easy" "My full name?" "Antonio Levi Lopez" "Damn not a lot of people know that." "But I do" "Zodiac sign" "Obviously a Leo" "Okay okay. Who was my first boyfriend?" "Chase. You've only had one" "Wow you really pay attention when I tell you stuff" "Why wouldn't I" We talked for a while and then I say somebody walk past the gate to the house. I'm guessing Nick saw it too because he turned off the lights and told everyone to find a hiding spot and stay down. Nick grabbed my hand and ran down to the basement with me. "Stay quiet okay. I trust everyone's found a safe hiding spot. We're gonna be okay" "Do you know that guy." "Um ye I've seen him around we should spread out imma go to the other side of the room." "Okay" We heard footsteps coming down towards the basement. Luckily we had locked the door. But that didn't stop him apparently because the next thing I knew he had shoved the door down. I heard his footsteps get closer and closer to me and I just hoped he wouldn't see me. "Austin if you don't come here you're friend's gonna get hurt." He said grabbing me by the arm dragging me towards the middle holding a gun towards my head. He was squeezing my arm extremely hard. I heard 4 shots thinking they were about to hit me. "No he won't." "Nick" "Hey I got you baby, I got you" I was still pretty scared and felt like I was crying even harder than I was before. "Did he hurt you T" I nodded and pointed to my arm. "We can go to the hospital as soon as we land in LA tomorrow morning." "Okay." I replied too shaken to say anything else then we went upstairs
