The next couple of days were not as eventful. There wasn't anything to do and we didn't want to spend the rest of our money. Chris had to work every evening until the weekend, so we couldn't even go anywhere unless we walked. We mostly laid around the house watching Netflix, listening to music, and eating all of his junk food. There was a video store a couple of blocks away, and a few times we walked down there to browse their selection and talk to a white cockatoo that whistled at us from the back room every time we walked by.
I called my mom every day to keep her updated on how I was doing. I told her most of the stuff that happened at the concert, except for the flirting and personal time spent with Dylan. I knew she wouldn't approve of that, and I really didn't want her to cut my vacation short. Olivia was so excited when she heard that we met them after watching their soundcheck. She had developed a cute little crush on Alex, so she wanted to know everything about him. I told her he gave me a hug, and I sent them the best picture from that night. I kind of wished that I had taken more pictures while I was there, but I was too busy enjoying every single moment to even think about my phone.
On Wednesday, Chris took us girls out to the movies before he had to go to work. We got a large popcorn, and when we went to find a seat, we were surprised to see we had the whole theater to ourselves. We barely paid attention to the movie playing. Instead, we just talked and made each other laugh. Chris kept making me crack up because he would randomly throw popcorn at the screen. But when he took off his sneaker and hurled it as hard as he could, I lost it.
When the movie ended and we got up onto our feet, we had to wait for Chris to find his shoe. He dropped us off at the house and left for work.
Maddy and I didn't know what to do. It was too chilly outside to go to the pool, so we flipped through the TV channels trying to find something interesting. We ended up leaving it on a rock music station, and we turned the volume up so the music was blaring. We trudged into the kitchen in search of something to eat.
I found a can of pizza dough in the fridge. "Wanna make a pizza?" I asked Maddy, holding it up.
Her face lit up with excitement. "Yeah!" she said.
We pulled out all the stuff we would need. It looked as though Chris had already bought the ingredients to make a pizza, so we hoped he wouldn't mind us using it all. Maddy started rolling out the dough as my phone began to ring. I preheated the oven and glanced at my phone to see who was calling. It was a withheld number, so I ignored the call and started opening a jar of pizza sauce.
"Are you gonna answer your phone?" Maddy asked, struggling to stretch the dough across the pizza stone.
"No," I replied. "It's just a telemarketer."
I helped her get the dough just right, and after baking it, we dumped the sauce on top and spread it around with a spoon. "How much cheese do you want?" I asked.
"A lot!" she exclaimed.
We sprinkled some mozzarella, and I grabbed a block of cheddar cheese from the fridge and started grating it on top. "Is this enough?" I asked after the pizza was covered with cheese.
"No! More!" Maddy giggled.
I started grating more cheese, until she yanked it from my hands and started grating cheese onto it like mad. We were cracking up when there was so much cheese on it that we couldn't see any traces of sauce underneath. We were still laughing as we shoved the pizza into the oven and set a timer. We left our mess in the kitchen and went back into the living room to wait for our monstrous creation to cook. We perused Chris' massive DVD collection.
"Wanna watch something scary?" Maddy suggested, pulling out a movie. "I've never seen The Ring before. Have you?"
"No," I answered. "I've heard of it, but I actually never watched it."
