"What's Edward's problem?" I whispered to Alice while Edward sat in the corner away from everyone reading. I have been living with the Cullen's for a week and I love it. Me and Edward have been getting along on and off but all of sudden he'e been acting weird.

"Ummmm..." Alice stuttered a little biting her nail. " Bella not so close." She said pushing me away. I felt a little hurt, did I do something? I looked at her and noticed that her beautiful gold eyes were now black as coal. I looked around me, everyone seemed to look anxious or extremely mad. I shot a glance toward Esme and she gave me a nervous smile.

"Bella, the family has to go out for a while. We will be back in a bit," Carlise announced. I shrugged and mumbled a quite okay. They all slipped on their coats and shoes, then headed out. Esme gave me a kiss on the head and Carlise gave me a little wave and they were out of the door. I sat there for a couple of minutes after I was left alone. I wondered how long until they were going to be back.

I finally got up and stared adventuring the house by myself. On the way upstairs, I stopped and stared at the pictures lining the wall. Photos of different places around the whole world scattered the wall. But something in particular caught my attention, a large frame filled with a hundred graduation caps. I wondered if they were past family members or a weird obsession. I ignored my curiosity and continued towards Carlise's office. There was nothing else to do so I figured I would find a good book to read. I crept his door open to his dark office and peeked in making sure that somehow he was there. Then I starting going through his large selection of books. It seemed as if some books were a hundred years old or mostly things I had never heard of. I settled on a classic, Alice in Wonderland. When I still was trapped with Billy the only thing I had to do for fun was reading so that's what I did. That's how my love for books started.

I tried trying to get comfortable in one of large red chairs positioned in the corner of the room but no matter what I tried I kept shifting uncomfortably. I finally gave up all hope for relaxation and headed somewhere else. Unfortunately I ended up in the doorway of Edward's room with the want to sit in there. And of course I couldn't help myself, the room was so calming with it's 2 glass windows and a gorgeous view of the forest. I slowly waded into the room turning on some music. The room flooded with quiet piano music. I settled on to the couch and started reading. After an hour or so I couldn't keep my eyes open and slowly drifted to sleep.

Finally after the sky outside was dark I awoke. There standing in front of me, Edward stood. Startled, I jumped up. "How long have you been there?" I whispered. "A while." He murmured back with a slight grin on his face. I quickly said sorry and left the room.  He softly grabbed my arm on the way out. I looked down at his hand and shivered a little at his cold touch. Had he been outside?

"It's okay, you can sleep here if you'd like." Edward told me pushing me back down on the couch. I did as he said and sat on the now warm sofa. After a moment of silence I felt myself getting tired and my eyes starting to fall asleep. I felt his large arms around me, pulling me to a sleeping position. Then he left, leaving me to myself and my dreams.
