I winced as I felt the vile heat up against my skin on touching the door knob.
Shit.
I quickly turned around to face Hades. "Thank you for your assistance, you can go now!"
His eyes narrowed on me, "why so? I was asked to stay with you until your father returns. So, you may open the door."
"NO!" I exclaimed when he reached for the door. I recovered and quickly put a hand on his chest, feeling his heart beat. "I mean, it's fine. I don't need your assistance anymore. You can go."
He stared at me suspiciously for a minute but eventually backed off. My tensed shoulders fell and I let out a sigh.
"Okay then, bye" he said and took me into a warm hug.
"Uhm, what is this for?" I asked, taken aback.
"You saved my life. A way to thank you," he whispered into my neck.
I slowly fastened my hands around his back. "Technically, you did..." I mumbled.
He hummed and I melted into his arms.
"Is this a bad timing Deadwings?" I heard and instantly tried to jump back from Hades, who did not budge. He slowly took his hands off me before giving Crusadus a tired look.
"And who are you?" He asked, looking bored.
Crusadus bowed his head to Hades, "Crusadus Beckett, DA. I live in tower2-" but he was soon cut off by Hades, "I asked who you were, not your bio data. Why are you here?"
I slowly unlocked the door as they got engaged in their talk and peeked in to find Damien sitting in all black, giving his usual tough demeanor. I casually gestured him to leave to which he sighed before kissing the same vile around his neck and vanishing. Close call..
"Lara?"
"Yes," I replied curtly as I locked the door with a few swift movements and looked back at them.
"I was here to give you back your dagger. Would call it equals if you gave mine back as well," Beckett said.
My eyes widened.
"That wasn't your dagger?" Hades asked, all eyes on me.
I pursed my lips and looked at Cruss, ignoring Hades. "Yes about that Beckett. I won't be giving you back the dagger, I used it and I have earned it. You may return mine back though."
I was aware of how provoking this blade was, it was powerful and I couldn't return it so simply.
Cruss' eyes narrowed at me. He smirked on pulling mine out gaining a smile on my face until he slipped it into Hades's hands.
"What are you doing?" I snapped.
"He was closer, he will give it back to you. I shall leave now. We will meet again Deadwings," he sassed and made his leave.
I was too stunned to speak. It already felt wrong to have a blade made by The Crucial Hunters in the hands of a Dark Assassin but my concerns were different. Crusadus' words echoed in my brain as I reopened the door and entered an empty apartment, followed by Hades.
I snapped out of my thoughts as soon as Nightfall flew in front of my face and started licking my face. The heat from his nostrils hitting my face with full force.
"Night! I am okay baby. Shh.." I hummed to which he slowly got back on his claws, though still close by my legs.
I patted his head before turning back to look at Hades, who was caught examining my dagger closely. I sucked in a sharp breath.
