Beam POV

It was Saturday morning when I heard laughter from our living room. My godmother, Mae Luchie visited from next door.

"Good morning Mae!" I wai'd out of respect.

"Oh Beam! Good thing you're here!" She pulled me close to her and hugged me.

"Huh? What's wrong Mae?" I asked her but my own mother answered for her.

"Son, your godmother is worried about Forth." She chuckled.

"What is it this time? Did he got into a fight again?" I rashly concluded. Forth is Mae Luchie's son.

"It would've been better if he just got into a fight... but it's much more troublesome Beam!" She exclaimed.

I didn't immediately understand Mae Luchie's point. But when she explained that Forth was failing his Math subjects, I knew instantly what the problem was. It will be a detriment to his plans in taking Engineering in college if he doesn't do good in Math. In this regard, she wanted me to become Forth's Personal Tutor.

Our mothers are bestfriends so Forth and I were born on the same year. We also grew up together since our houses were just beside each other. But somewhere along the way, we grew apart since we have different interests. Though it didn't stop our mothers to force us to be present in each of our birthdays or in any other celebration for that matter. It's just that, we're not in the same wavelength.

Next year, we will be applying for college. I'm gonna take up Medicine while Forth will take Engineering. The only thing we have in common is our target school, Khantapat University. In everyting else, we're complete opposites.

I'm fair-skinned, he's tanned.

I'm busy with the student council, he's busy as the star player of our basketball team.

I'm silent, he's loud.

I'm a model student, he's a problem child.

I'm gay, he's straight!

I'm handsome... I know that. But in an angelic kind of way. Forth is handsome too... but he's the manifestation of earthly desires. It's kind of funny because I don't find him attractive at all. Maybe because I know him completely from his hair down to his toes. Or perhaps, because I have respect for Mae Luchie.

Mae Luchie asked me to come by their place by noon so at exactly 12NN, I arrived at their gate.

*ding dong!*

"Oh Beam! Just in time! Come on in!" She opened the door and let me in. "I'm about to leave actually, I still have work to do. You know the salon doesn't really have day offs. My lazy son must still be sleeping. You go ahead and wake him okay! Thank you!"

She quickly left but before she had gone farther she shouted, "Don't be shy, there are loads of snacks in the fridge! Go eat whatever you want!" She then disappeared while waving.

I opened the door to the house. No soul in sight. But because I'm used to coming to their place, I made myself at home. I sat on the sofa, turned on the TV and chose a show in Netflix. I chose Gossip Girl, my favorite. While that familiar voice of the titular character said Serena van der Woodsen was spotted in Grand Central Station, I heard a door open from the second floor followed by steps descending down the stairs.

"Who's there?!!!" Forth shouted in shock at the foot of the stairs.

"Shut up!" I retorted. I turned to him and noticed he was only clad in boxers.

"Piff..." he exhaled loudly. "I thought it was a thief! It's just you Beam!"

"So... you're going to leave it like that? Just because you recognized me, I'm automatically not a thief?" I remarked in a serious tone.
