The night air was cold and Sutton could see her breath in the moonlight. She had been travleing for fifty miles now, entering a new territory, she knew she had to be discrete. Shifting, she cried out in pain. this was all very new to her. She grew up in a middle class family, in a small suberb. She lived a nice normal life, untill the begining of junior year. First it was the cravings, animalistic urges to be outside, run, hunt.

Sutton easily dismissedthis as stress of starting a new school year, but soon other changes occured. Her senses inproved drasticly. she was never realy one for sports, but when she beat the schools track record in a basic PE class, she had to face the fact that somthing was wrong.

It was a friday night and Sutton had to come home early from a friends house due to a terrible headache. By the time she reached the front door and the kitchen for a glass of water, she was covered in sweat. Heat waves washed over her blurring her vision. The world around her seemed to melt into motion blur, she fell to the ground. suddenly she started shaking violently, her skin was crawling, her spine poped out of place. her body was rearanging itself, she could do nothing but lye on the cold tile, convulsing, and waiting for it to be over. Her mother, Hearing the comotion, came into the kitchen. seeing the chaos, she satarted screaming. where her daghter had once been, now stood a hulking wolf with piercing, blue eyes with an otherworldly glow.

Suttons first instinct was to attack. her mother was backed into a corner when sutton came back to herself. realizing what shed done she bolted out the door. hours had passed when sutton came home covered in dirt and animal blood. oddly she felt no remorse for killing the small doe.

her mother was curled in a ball on the couch."mom?" at the sound of her voice her mother snapped her head up and glared at her with crazed eyes."Get away, your not my child! Your father said i would learn to love you but i never truely did." she said in a mangled voice. "what do you mean?" she pleaded, hurt.

"you were adopted! we're not your real parents." "but mom-"

"get out! get out of my house!!"

Now at sixteen Sutton had been traveling on her own for two weeks. she mostle stayed in wolf form changing only to bathe and if she needed to go into civilization. She was aware she was in a new territory by the smell and the instinct that someone had been there recently to patrol the area. she had to keep moving. she was a mile in when she heard the faintest snap of a twig. sutton wirled around to face her intruder, growling savagely.

The wolf was male and suprisingly smaller than her, but she didnt know much about her kind. he was small and light blond, a great contrast to her obsidian coat. he took a few steps toward her lowering his head submissively. he quickly shifted into human form, leaving him open to an attack.

"Hello, my name is Trevor" he said slowly. she might be new but she wasnt brain dead. she simply gave a soft growl in response.

"Its cool, im not gonna hurt you. come back to the pack house with me and we'll have a nice talk over a home made meal" he said with a sideways smile, and somthing in him made her trust Trevor. she gave a small nod and he reached somewhere for a faded pair of jeans. she realized then that he hadnt been wearing anything and she thought it odd that it didnt seem to matter.

He stayed in human form as she followed Trevor for about five miles into the territory, never getting closer than three yards. soon the reached a mansion seemingly, in the middle of nowhere. this must be the pack house.

she followed him into a back door still in wolf form. this way she thought she could fight her way out of a corner.

...

Sutton entered the house timidly. Ready to strike and run at any moment. Into the wolves den.
She thought.

Through the threshold a woman stood. Waiting. How did she know?
Trevor greeted her in reference then turned to Sutton.

"Why have you entered my territory child?" said the older woman with power edging her voice. This must be the leader...

Sutton feeling skittish was about to bolt from the open door, when a smell unlike any other hit her.

Think of the best smell you can and times that by ten. Then if that smell could be you're lover from dusk till dawn. Of it had life and breath that ticked you in the moonlight. Something fingers could caress under the glow of a sunrise.

With that the fight or flight instinct lessend and she let the smell lulle her a sense of security. She began to shift into her human form for the first time in over a week. She knew she was at their mercy.

"Well now" the woman said in a motherly tone." your human form is just as pretty as your wolf"

"Um... Thanks?" Sutton said confused. "I'm sorry for entering your territory. I'm just passing through" she said uncertain.

"That's all right. You seem pretty young and harmless. You're lucky my son Trevor found you though. If It we're one of the older mails, you might have been killed."with that she went about her business leaving Sutton naked in the floor with a grinning teenage boy.

" let me get you some cloths." Trevor said kindly." the rest of the pack will be back from a hint soon. Ooohh yo can meet my sister!" Sutton likes the idea of that for reasons uncertain to her.
