"I'm gonna miss him," Tessa sniffled as I handed her a tissue. "I know, so am I," I murmured. "The Hush puppies," Mom pointed out. Rory was in tears beside me.

"Death always comes in fives in Stars Hollow," Mom pointed out. "Only four so far, the fifth still has to come."

I looked at Mom. "Seriously?"

"In honour of Stan's memory, we will repair the bells that once rung out in Stars Hollow, it's been twenty years but we will do this in Stan's memory."

We all rose and walked out. "Oh my God," Tessa put her hand on my shoulder. "Your mom's right! Death does come in fives."

"Dude! Time and place," I elbowed her. "So how did you do in your midterms?"

"I did good," she told me. "You?"

"Top of my class," I smiled. "You hear the band has a gig in New York?" Tessa asked me.

"Really? Andrea never mentioned it," I said to her. Tessa stuffed her hands into her pocket. "They only got the news this morning..you gonna go?"

"Yeah, definitely," I nodded.

"Hey Heather," Cole caught up to me in the hallway. "Oh hey Cole, what's up?" I asked him. "I was wondering...do you wanna go to that diner on Saturday? Just the two of us?"

"Like a date?" I wondered. "Yeah..a date," he muttered. "Is it too soon? Cause I know it's been a month since you and that guy with the girl's name broke up."

"Okay," I nodded. "One date can't hurt, right?"

"Exactly," Cole agreed with me. "I promise not to propose to you or anything."

I chuckled. "Then yes, it's a date."

Cole had a small smile on his face. Which was rare, considering Cole was the grumpiest of our group.

We walked into the meeting. "What's today's yelling class about?" I asked Claire.

"Yes or no, were Ross and Rachel on a break?"

"No."

"Yes."

Me and Cole gaped at each other. "You're going down, Gilmore!"

"Try me!"

There was a very heated debate and surprisingly the date was still going ahead. Once I got off the subway I called Rory.

"Hey Hezzy!"

"A boy asked me out!" I told her. Both of us started squealing very loudly, which caused some strangers to look at me all weirdly.

"Who is he?"

"His name is Cole Vance," I told her. "He's a sophomore and he's in my class."

"Ooh! Hezzy going for the older guys!"

"But is it too soon for the PJ period?" I wondered. Rory stopped talking for a second. "PJ period?"

"Post Jess," I clarified. "It's one date, he's hardly asking you to run away with him, just go on the date and see how it goes," Rory told me.

"Alright, I'll do that," I said.

I walked into work and I waved at Amilia and Eva was chewing gum behind the desk. "Ooh," Amilia teased me. "Does someone have boy glow?"

"Boy glow?" I frowned at her as I went into the staff area to toss my jacket onto a chair and grab some clothes to hang up.

"Exactly, when a boy asks a girl out, the girl has a little light pink shade on her face," Amilia. "So who is the boy?"

"A sophomore in my class," I told her, blushing a bit. "Oh my God, you're blushing!" she poked fun at me. "Oh leave me alone," I rolled my eyes.

"You and this Jesse character.."

"Jess," I corrected her. "Anyway," she continued. "This guy goes to school with you and he has the same interests as he's doing the same course, I want all the details!"

"Stalker," I rolled my eyes and started hanging up t-shirts. Amilia took one from the pile, a dark blue top that was open at the back and ran to the register. "What are you doing?" I asked her as I watched her drop a twenty in the register. "Catch!"

I caught the top. "Early birthday present," she quipped. "My birthday was in October," I told her. "Then late present," she wiggled her eyebrows.

"It is cute," I admitted. "And yours," Amilia told me.

The buzzer on the intercom went off and Cole looked sad the second I opened the door. "It's packed, there's no space," he sighed. "No room at the diner?" I pouted.

"Why don't you come to the concert?" Andrea suggested, freshening her lipstick.

"Wanna go to the concert?" I asked him. "Yeah why not?" he agreed and we got a cab to CBGB's.

You know that rumour that cab drivers in New York are really rude. It's very funny. And very true.

"So who's in the band?" Cole asked us. "My friends from my hometown," I told him. "Where's that?" he wondered.

"Stars Hollow," I told him. "Where's that?" Cole repeated the same question. "Connecticut, we're both from Connecticut," Andrea told him.

"Ah," he mumbled. "I'm from Ithaca."

"And you don't go to Cornell?" Andrea raised her eyebrow. "Blasphemy!" Cole exclaimed.

My pager went off and I looked at it. "Uh could you turn around please?"

"You can't be serious!" the cab driver exclaimed.

Like I said. Rude. "Can we just go there? I'm already on the way there!" the cab driver argued with me.

"The event was cancelled!" I started getting pissed off. "I'm asking you to go two blocks backwards! I'm not asking you to take me to a meth lab!"

The cab driver slammed on the brakes and kicked us out of the cab. "This is why people take the subway!" I slammed the door and he drove away.

Andrea suddenly started laughing. "I was waiting for this moment, Heather Gilmore arguing with a cabbie!"

Cole started laughing too and I couldn't help but stifle a laugh. "He was being an absolute dick. He wouldn't turn the cab around!" I giggled.

Snow started falling from the sky. "So, this is a very unique first date," Cole pointed out. "Raincheck?" I suggested. "Raincheck," he agreed.

"More like snow check!" Andrea joked. Me and Cole just shook our heads in unison.

"How about Thai food and we watch Doctor Who?" I suggested. "Which Doctor?" she asked me. "Tom Baker, duh," I pointed out in a matter of fact tone. "Let's go."

The three of us walked back to the apartment as the snow grew thicker and thicker.
