~day of the festival~

it was 6.30pm. kuroo and Kenma had discussed when and where to meet beforehand.

the aroma around the festival was amazing. kenma could smell the okonomiyaki, yakitori, takoyaki...

he was surprisingly at the venue first. kenma was pacing around and fiddling with his fingers. he kept looking up to check if the people passing by him were Kuroo.

"grrrrrg", kenma looked at his stomach with a very uncomfortable expression.

"yo Kenma, did you wait for a long time?", kuroo said with a smirk.

the pudding-head was shocked by his captains' sudden appearance and quickly looked away.

"oh noooo, kenma are you upset?? I'll buy you takoyaki, karaage anything you want!!", kuroo said in a panicked tone, "please dont hate meee~"

kenma chuckled and looked at kuroo's flustered face.

"u-um kenma you look great in that yukata..."

"you too captain" kenma said while looking down and avoiding eye contact.

"should we go now?" said the captain to his setter.

"y-yeah I'm getting hungry..." kenma replied while looking away.

the couple walked towards the stalls. both of their hearts beating faster and faster with every step. they walked awkwardly next to each other.

kuroo looked at Kenma and they locked eyes, then Kuroo saw something that would only happen once in a blue moon...

Kenma's smile.

not a weak one. but a smile that was from ear to ear.

"I'm glad I invited you to come with me"

kuroo had no words for Kenma. he was still in shock that Kenma. yes kenma. smiled.

the pudding head could tell that Kuroo was over the moon. and just when he turned back to continue walking along the path of the festival.

he felt a warm hand pushing his hair behind his ear and pulling him close.

kenma thought,

so this is how it feels like to be in a relationship huh?

Kenma walked closer to the captain and rested his head on the side of his boyfriend's arm.
