Lighting lights up the dark morning sky, thunder following closely behind after a few seconds. A shadow runs threw the empty streets as rain starts to fall, causing the shadow to run faster to their destination. As soon as the shadow got to their place, a girl with navy blue hair, wearing a light blue college uniform, and brown eyes, standing under a tarp, keeping her from getting soak from the rain, stops them in their steps. Lighting lights up the sky to reveal the shadow to be a woman with auburn hair, wearing black hoodie, and hazel eyes. The navy hair girl notices the woman, the look of disappointment written all over her face. The woman sighs as she looks into her little sister's eyes.

"Rose this is the third time I have waited for you. Why do you keep going out at night and not come back home? I thought you promised me no more parties, especially after what happened three years ago. I thought you finally let go of the past?" Annoyed with her older sister, she noticed a burse on Rose face. Walking up to her sister, she push her hood back to examine the burse more. She sighs one more time before stepping back from Rose.

"Katrina I'm sorry it won't happen again. I lost track of time. Besides I thought you said you weren't going to wait for me anymore and when did you become more protective of me. I'm pretty sure that's my job, ha-ha," Rose laughed and tried to give her little sister a smile but the look on Katrina's face tells her that she is not in a laughing mood. "Look sis I wasn't at a party."

"Right," she rolls her eyes, "then please do tell me where you have been? Oh, wait that's right, every time I ask, you always say that you can't tell me. What happen to us not keeping secrets from each other?" Katrina started to get aggravated with Rose. "Also please tell where you got that burse this time. This is like, the what? The fifth time I have seen a burse on your cheek?"

"Katrina you know why I can't tell you. Its my side job and you know that. You need to stop worrying so much about me. That's my job as a big sister. If it makes you happy, I got the money you need for the rest of your schoolbooks. Before you question me where I got the money, I got paid today at the bar. Its my whole check but I thought it might be able to help you." Rose took some money out of her pocket and hands it to Katrina. Katrina hesitate before taking it. She counted the money and her eyes went wide. She looks up at Rose, shaking her head as she hands her the money, but she wouldn't take the money back. Rose shook her head.

"That's for you Katrina, you need those books for school. I want you to be able to pass your classes and graduate. That reminds me where's your boyfriend? Shouldn't he be here by now to walk with you to the school?" Rose looked around seeing no one else but the two of them.

"Thank you, sis, but this is just too much. What about food? and he's not my boyfriend he's just a close friend," Her face gets red, "besides he's sick today. I was going to stop by his place and give him some soup I've made for him, but I'm sure its cold now because I had to wait for you." She looks down at the bowl, she's holding, covered by tin foil. A small smile forms on Rose face.

"I'm sorry Katrina, I didn't mean for you to wait for me. You usually don't wait for me unless it's something important or you just knew I would be out late." Rose looks into her sister's brown eyes, searching for something off. She could tell that Katrina was just waiting for her because she knew she was going to be out late. It was obvious that she would be out late because she had gotten caught later that night. Rose was trying to sneak out last night, but because of her sister being in college, she had forgotten that Katrina was going to be up late due to studying for a test in the dining room near the front door. As the result of her forgetting, Katrina saw Rose with a bag, and knew right then that her big sister was going to be out late.

Katrina sighed as she spoke, "Listen Rose, I understand that we are both adults and we should worry about ourselves, but after what had happen with our parents," Rose gave her a mean look, she cleared her throat before speaking, "I'm just saying that we only have each other right now. I just don't want the past to repeat itself." Rose starts to glare at her. A heavy tension rises in the air between the two sisters. Rose glares down at the ground, gritting her teeth as memories of her parent's flash in her mind. They were both young when their parents had passed away, but Rose knew exactly what happened to them. Katrina, on the other hand, had no clue of what happened, other than knowing that someone broke into their home and her parents tried to stop them but ended up getting killed. The air became so thick between the two, you could cut it with a knife.
