I'd like to think I live a normal life; I live in a good neighborhood with my parents, and though I have my depressive swings, my parents usually provide for me. I'm an only child, but I don't have many friends, and I usually get good grades in school.
It's been a little difficult for me to apprehend with everything lately though. My family and I just moved into a new house right outside of Seattle. It's a quaint neighborhood; as far as I know.
It'll be my first day at the new school today. I slip into some leggings and a crop-top I had laying around, nothing too fancy.
"Do you need a ride today?" My mother asks me. "Nah, i think it'd be a nice change of events if I rode the bus today. It's been a while anyways." My mother nods and helps me out, and with that, I'm out the door.

After the bus arrives and I pick a seat I start thinking of what could be; I mean, I'm a senior, I had just turned 18, and school ends in just a couple more months; what was I to do after that? All my invasive thoughts were stopped my the sudden jerking of the bus; we were finally at school. I look up at the new school and mouth the words "Harry Herpson High School" and laugh at the name as I leave the bus.

Finally the hours pass by and I'm in my last hour of the day, it was the only math class available at the time since all the other ones were taken. Before the bell rang I was appointed to sit next to some weird kid wearing a yellow shirt. Why was he weird? The entire class hour he stared at this girl, basically drooling. I shake my head as I listen to the teacher— Mr. Goldenfold.
"Okay class, what is two plus two?" The class chants four and my eyes widen in amazement. This is a high school level class and we're still learning basic addition?
At the end of the hour, Goldenfold gives us a pop quiz, obviously just simple equations I could do in my sleep—it didn't make me a genius. I was the first to finish, so I raised my hand to turn in the paper. I glance at the boy next to me, his eyes jerk over to me. He looks confused and stares at his paper, slowly looking back at me, and then eventually staring at the girl again.

As they finally finished the quizzes, Goldenfold hands us a packet of simple, similar equations. The bell rings and I start to gather my papers in my hand, I didn't have time to put them in my bag, I just wanted to leave to get to the bus early.
As im leaving, the red haired chick the boy was staring at rushes past me, causing him to follow—colliding into me.
"What the hell! Watch it!" I yell at him instinctively, lowering myself to grab my papers. "Ah Jeez, I-I'm sorry, I d-didn't see you!" I rolled my eyes and he scratches his neck in embarrassment, leaning down to help me. "I can pick up my papers myself, thanks kid."
The halls were too crowded, and I knew that I wouldn't get to the bus on time. My best option was to just call my mom or dad to pick me up. I sigh and start stuffing the papers in a folder in my bag. "I-I'm Morty." I turn my head and see him still standing there. He looked really young, perhaps a freshman. "And I'm too old for you." I spit out, trying to walk away from him. "Hey! I-I'm really ssorry about that." "Oh yea, no big deal, I just missed the bus, it's okay, really. It's not like you murdered my family, you don't have to apolo—" "my grandpa can give you a ride!"
"Ooookay, uhm, I'm good, I don't take rides from strangers, actually I'm not sure how I'm still conversing with you—" I start saying, before I was interrupted by a girl with bright orange hair talking to this 'Morty' character.
"Tell grandpa Rick to tell mom and dad I'm going to a party today after school, I won't be riding home with you guys today." She says quickly, not looking up from her phone, vanishing right after she says her sentence.
Morty shakes his head and starts talking again. "I-I-it's the least I c-can do. Please let us give y-you a ride." "If I let you give me a ride will you stop stuttering?" I didn't mean to say it out loud, I know it's rude, it just came out.

I hear a faint sound from behind me, it sounds almost like lasers, followed by laughter– drunk laughter. Morty runs over behind me to aide, or rather scold, the man laughing behind me. "Oh Morty, s-sss-sshe really go*Uuhgh*t you there. Y-yo-you do stutter a lot." "Rick w-w-what the hell took you so long? I-I asked y-yyou to be here right a-after school." The older man kept laughing at Morty, I couldn't figure out why, what I did know was that I wanted to go home.
"Yeah, hi," I impede, " my name is (Y/N), and your....grandson... promised me a ride back to my house, since he's the reason I missed the bus." The man just looks at me, kind of cluelessly, and finally speaks. "You're not Su*uUuhgh*mmer."
All right, I've had enough of this shit, I just want to go home. yeah, yeah, stranger danger, but I was desperate to go home. I think to myself, almost exploding from anger. "Look, I don't know— or care who you are, or who your grandpa is or who Summer is or— any of that! Morty you told me I'd get a ride, I don't need one from you, but since you were so kind to offer I'd believe it be rude to DENY. So if I could get a ride—."
"A-ah Jeez, okay, u-uhm..." he trails his voice and looks over at the older man. "W-ww- what're you looking at me for M-morty?" He says, opening his...lab coat and taking out a flask, taking a swig from it. "What the hell is wrong with you guys... I think... I think I'll just walk home."

I finally leave them—whoever they are, and start walking out of the entrance of the school.
I start heading home, walking as quickly as I could. As I enter the neighborhood I live in, I hear rattling from above me and see a circular disk come down. It's...like a ufo but... a car. I see Morty and the man with him and see Morty hop out running up to me. "H-hey! I-I didn't know y—you lived in this neighborhood!" "Uh-huH..." i say, with my eyes still fixated on the...ship.
"O-oh the ship...R-Rick made that." "Rick?" I ask, feeling dumb right after saying it. "Y-yeah, my grandpa." I shake my head, still looking over at the ship, shifting my eyes to Rick, who has now entered a garage and is now working on something already. "Morty- right?" He shakes his head. "Your grandpa looks like a real interesting man." I say, continuing to stare at rick working. "He is. A-anyway, I know you're walking home b-b-bbut I saw you're good at math— r-re-really good! D-do you think y-you could help me with the homework packet?"
I finally shift my eyes back to morty. "Look kid, your grandpa seems to be some kind of genius, why not ask him?" "H-he says school is dumb."
I look at the time reading 4:15. The homework was easy, I could just help Morty and head home without ny parents questioning it. "Okay." I say, shifting my eyes back at Rick.

I wanted to look away, but I couldn't, he seemed...intriguing.
