Chapter 4 - A Deal with the Demon

Kousuke's pov

Your probably wondering why I left Asagi just like that. Well, to state the obvious, it happened right after Kiryuu-sensei told me some... very bad news.

*flashback*

Kousuke: What do you mean I'm not human!?

Kiryuu: Ah, I just sure love to hear the reaction of someone finding out what they really are~. It makes me feel so exited!

Kousuke: Kiryuu-sensei, I want an answer! Now!

Kiryuu: *sigh* So impolite. Well, Kousuke-kun come with me.

As we went to the research room, Kiryuu-sensei went on his computer and showed me the results.

Kousuke: What are you trying to show me?

Kiryuu: Look closely.

As we are seeing my DNA strand, I saw little red things attracted and being a part of that strand.

Kiryuu: Those little "things" there are cells, belonging to demons.

Kousuke: I'm sorry, what!?

Kiryuu: After having an examination of your body, it seems the physical reactions and the way you acted as a mindless beast back at the cafeteria are not normal.

Kousuke: No way...

Kiryuu: I even found something else as well.

Kiryuu pulled another tab where it shows the body parts, the muscles across my body being strengthened and charged.

Kiryuu: And even with this physical appearance, I'd say my hypotheses' is quite correct.

Kousuke: So, I'm a demon?!

Kiryuu: That I am not sure of. At least not yet. Tell me Kousuke-kun, have you undergo any other "treatment" that allowed you to be like this.

Kousuke: What are you talking about? How could I-

Then I had bunch of flashbacks about Oboro torturing me and making me transformed into a ball of meat.

Kousuke: That bitch...

Kiryuu: Kousuke-kun?

Kousuke: Oh uh, I don't know. I don't remember anything like that.

Kiryuu: Hmm, this is indeed interesting. Very interesting.

Kousuke: Uh, Kiryuu-sensei, am I free to go now?

Kiryuu: Well it will be difficult for me to make my report, but yes, you can go now.

I started to grab my stuff, but then...

Kiryuu: Kousuke-kun!

Kousuke: Yeah?

Kiryuu: You're not really planning on telling this to Asagi-san, are you?

Kousuke: I, uh...

Kiryuu: Seems you still don't get it. If she finds out about what happened to you, she might be terrified. Even knowing what she's been through, she might be afraid and might even kill you someday.

I was shocked on Kiryuu-sensei's reasons. But he's right, if I had told my situation to Asagi-san, she might actually kill me. Just like what happened with Kyousuke...

*present*

There you have it. That's how I wound up running away and got here in the first place.

It's not like I'm doing this to care about my own life, though. I'm doing for Asagi-san's sake too. And I think... that it's better this way.

Anyway, while I was walking during the day, I stumbled to a small park, and decided to take a break.
