Chapter 1-

I heard a door slam from downstairs, hoping it's not who I think it is. But when is luck on my side? I put my pencil down, and looked over my homework. Who even came up with homework? It's bad enough we have to do a ton every week-day, but on the weekends? That's cruel. Speaking of cruel, she stumbles into my room, obviously drunk.

"You screw up. Your worthless. Why'd you have to be my daughter?"

After every sentence was a slap. I didn't move or make a sound. I learned the hard way not to react, it feeds the fire.

She stumbled out the room. Finally! I looked up at the ceiling and just stared for a while.

But of course, my moment must be interrupted by my phone blasting Sweater Weather.

"Hello?"

"Talia!! I got tickets to see MAGCON!" my best friend, Rose, yells.

"Really?"

"Yeah, and your coming too!"

Before I could say anything else, she hung up. I can't believe it! I'm going to MAGCON!
