Leon laid on his back, against the cold tile floors. His chapped lips exhale harshly. He was so weak, emotionally. The man cried all the tears out, no more left to run.
His ears were focused on the yelling of the other psychopaths. This place made everything worst. His mind was force to feel happy and normal when it shouldn't. Leon was taught it wasn't okay to cry but it was okay. It was okay to let tears fall.
After every one of his "sessions", he'd cry like there was no tomorrow. Once he was done, Leon would beat himself up for it, saying he wasn't a real man. Yet, he was.
"I need to get myself out." Leon whispered to himself.
He sat up quickly, crawling towards the door. Then he was at the door, struggling to get up. His hand wiggled the knob, checking if it was unlocked. It was. Foolish guards, always sucking at their job.
He peaked through the window, watching and listening to everything now. Everything was quiet. The halls looked empty.
Perfect. Leon opened the door, quietly as he can, the door squeaking every now and then. He poked his head through the door way, looking down left and right, making sure no guards. Carefully, Leon exited his room, closing the door quietly.
His feet hitting the floor echoed in the empty halls. Passing many quiet doors, he hears a whisper from one. "Psst, Leon." The child's voice said.
Leon turned towards the sound, seeing a little girl. "Ezra? Why aren't you in bed?" Leon whispered back.
The little girl laughed, "Why aren't you in your room?"
The grown man smiled. He enjoyed Ezra's company. She was nice to him and very understanding. She was in here because she tried hurting herself. Ezra didn't deserve to be in this shit hole.
Ezra pulled a folded piece of paper out of her notebook, "I made this for you!"
She slid it under the door, "I love you. You are like a big brother."
"Thank you. I'll cherish this forever." Leon smiled at her.
Leon grabbed the folded paper and shoved it into his pants. "Ez, don't be dumb. You know I'm always here for you. Stay strong."
The little girl started tearing up, "Go. Go get your freedom!"
Leon frowned. He turned away slowly every now and then glancing at Ezra's sad face. He started walking again, but this time he walked a little faster. Right across the hall was a door that lead to the outside. He was so close to it.
Leon then heard shuffling so he forcefully opened the outside door and ran out. He ran like he was being chased. Trees went pass him, his hair flowing along with the wind. His blue eyes noticed a parked train. If he wanted to, he can get on it without being caught. And that's what he did.
He struggled getting up on the train. A couple of small hands helped pulled him up. "Now this train is a little too big to climb."
Leon looked up. He sees a short beautiful woman, with blonde straight hair put up in pigtails. Her skin was tan and her eyes were a caramel color. "I'm delilah!" She said happily.
Leon looked at her confused, "Uh I'm Leon?"
"Nice to meet you. Are you new to using the train?"
"Yeah. I haven't gone anywhere for a while so."
Delilah noticed his feet. He wasn't wearing any shoes. His outfit looked too big for him and too hot. "Where did you come from?" She smiled.
Leon grunted, "I don't have a home..."
Delilah nodded. "Well...," She took out money from her pockets, "I know this won't buy you a house but you can get some thrift clothes from where every you are going. Maybe you can get some shoes too!"
Leon took the money, "Thank you. This is so nice of you?"
"You questioned that? I'm guessing you are anti-social. I'll let you sleep."
Leon nodded. He felt the train move so he sat down next to Delilah. 'Sleep does sound good' Leon thought.
He closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep but it was hard to. Then, Delilah started humming. Humming a song that was soft and simple. Her hums were nice and quiet.
Leon focused his mind her sounds. Soon, he did start to get a little drowsy. His head swaying back and forward to the sound that she was making. He rested his head on her shoulder, not caring if she was uncomfortable. But she wasn't. She didn't mind at all.
