Living in Riverdale isn't the greatest but there's one thing I can hold on to, one thing I can trust. And that's the Serpents. The South Side Serpents are basically what most people would call a gang. There's laws we have to follow, of course but Jughead and I were born into this. Especially Jughead. His dad is the Serpent king.
I'm 13 now and we all get to go to school. It's not the best quality but that's how I like it. There's one problem though. You know how I said I've always wanted a girl in my life? Well now that we're at school I have plenty options but I can't seem to talk to them. Some of them keep coming up to me and asking how I get so lucky to hang out with all the boys all the time.
But there's this one girl. The worst of all. She's practically a bully. Well word got around that she liked Jughead and I couldn't have her getting Jughead all twisted up so one day she came up to me at lunch, "Hey twerp, why don't you go over there and get your little bottle head friend for me?" She smirked. "Okay."
I walked over to Jughead told him what happened and he had a plan. He whispered it in my ear and then the plan went into action. He told me to kiss him to make her jealous. So I did but it was the most awkward kiss ever. I almost wanted to gag. He's like a brother to me. It worked though. It made her so mad she threw a temper tantrum right in the middle of the lunch room. It was hilarious.
After that whole fiasco this girl came up to me and asked if she could sit with me. My heart started beating really fast and I felt a tight clench in my stomach. She told me how good of a job I did and that that girl had been bullying all of them for quite a while now. Then she grabbed my hand and said, "Thank you." She got up and went back down to her seat.
The next day girls started piling on to my table. I felt claustrophobic and suffocated. I noticed that the girl from yesterday, I think her name was Emily, wasn't sitting at my table but I saw her across the lunch room. I decided that I needed to go talk to her to get myself out of the situation I was in at the moment. I walked over to her table and asked if I could join them. Emily gave the girls at the table a dirty look and they all said "Yes, yes. Please sit down."
I sat down next to Emily and asked why she didn't come over to sit by me. "No one over there likes me. If I came over to sit everyone else would leave. I didn't want to do that to you," she said. "I'm so sorry. Why don't they like you?" I asked stupidly. "I don't know. Go ask them." She got up and went to class. I could tell I upset her by asking that. So I left as well...
