Welcome back to hell
I had to rewrite this one whole chapter ;;- - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Patch! Get your things from the truck cmon!"
A tall man with a gruff voice called out as he scratched his stubble while carrying a box. "Yeah yeah give me a second!" A 14 year old boy then came out of the dark blue house and towards his father who stood beside the truck. "What are you wearing?" His father snorted as he looked down to the boys feet and saw he was wearing his mothers heels and a pair of white socks. "I panicked okay! I couldn't find my shoes" The boy explained. His father shook his head then handed the box to him "Your things" Patch nodded. "Thanks dad" He muttered as he started walking back to the house struggling to keep his balance while wearing the heels. He rolled his eyes as he heard his father struggling not to laugh while watching him walk in agony as the heels make him look like a bobbing chicken.
As he finally reached his door he removed the horrid heels and ran up to his room to unpack his things. He opened the box to find his black and white shirts, He sighed as he looked around his room. Everything he saw was either in a lighter or darker colored shade of gray that made him feel out of place. He then remembered the words the woman in a white coat told his mother, that dreadful statement that made him crumble to the point it drove him not to care anymore. A month ago before they moved here to Washington, patch's mother grew concerned to what his son can, and cannot see, he cannot see any color other than gray. The woman in the white coat then looked down trying to not meet the older womans eyes.
"Ma'am, I'm afraid that if your son won't be able to see color by the end of the year, he might not have a soulmate at all."
He sighed as he glared up the ceiling and cursed in his head "stupid soulmate crap" he mumbled "What makes this shit so important anyways it's not like you'll die because you won't have one it just, won't let you see color! Or something.."
In this world, people who haven't met their soulmates yet can only see one color, once those two who can see identical colors meet they can finally see every single color that ever existed (Take a shot everytime I say color lmfao) It's honestly quite cruel but they can't stop it so the paranormal became normal and everyone is just living their life as it is.
Patch then took a piece of paper that was crumbled up into a ball and threw it at a window as he sighed and fixed his shirt from under his gray jacket. Suprisingly, someone threw something back at his window. His brows furrow in confusion as he went up his window and looked. There stood a girl that had brown messy hair and reached her shoulders, she wore a green hoodie and a black shirt underneath, to patch's persepective tho it's just gray. The girl grinned then waved her hand at him, patch akwardly waved back. She then lifted up a sign that said 'Hello Neighbor :D' patch nodded, she then held out another sign that said 'Ya'll got a block of cheese?' Patch looked around to see if anyone was watching and hesitantly shook his head no his face contorting into pure confusion, why the fuck would she ask for a block of cheese? She picked up another sign that said 'If ya'll got any blocks of cheese call me ;;;)))' At this point patch didn't know what to do anymore so he just closed his curtain and sat down on his bed in pure confusion "God, this neighborhood is full of junkies!" He exclaimed. A small pebble was then thrown at his window again and he slowly peeked from behind the curtains. The girl was still there behind their fence. His brows furrowed even more begging her to leave as she waited for those curtains to open up again. Another voice then called out to her "Harper get inside! You're scaring the neighbors!" The girl whipped her head behind her then back to the window, she shrugged her shoulders and picked up her signs and decided to retreat back into her house. "Thank god she went inside" Patch said to himself.
"Who went inside?" Patch yelped and he turned around to see his little sister Ari. "Ari what are you doing here? And you should've knocked!" He told her. Ari ignored that then her eyes went wide "Were you watching a girl?" Her small voice asked him "what?- what no!" Ari once again ignored it then started running downstairs shouting "MOMMY! MOMMY! PATCH IS PEEKING ON A GIRL!"Patch jumped up and started running after her "DAMN IT ARI I WASN'T!"
As 6:30 PM rolled in, the family sat together in a table and ate. As they digged in their food in silence, patch then spoke up "So," The two adults looked up to him."Who's going to be my online teacher this time?" He asked. His mother then piped up "Oh! No no- this time you're going to an actual school, isn't that great?" Patch almost choked on his chicken. "What?!" His mother nodded "Patch you're already 14 you have to go out there you know, make friends-" His father then cut her off with a mumble, "maybe a girlfriend-" she then nudged him in the stomach. "Franklin!" His father laughed while patch rolled his eyes. She then continued "who knows? You might even meet your soulmate ther-" "Don't." He mumbled. The table went silent, Patch looked up from his food then spoke "Don't remind me." He paused for a minute then stood up from the table. "I'm not hungry anymore" before his parents were about to protest he ran up to his room and laid down on his bed and glared at the ceiling. The anger eventually got to him, so he picked up his pillow then chucked it to his window then cursed out. "DAMN IT!" He then smacked his own face down on the bed.
While he was there on his bed sulking, another pebble was then thrown on his window. He ignored it, then another, then another, until he got tired of it and decided to open his window. "What?!" Once he fully opened his eyes from rubbing them too much he was then met with the girl from earlier, standing there grinning from ear to ear. "Heya neighbor!" She called out, 'oh this shit again' patch thought "go away" was he simply said. "Hmmmm, I don't plan to" she teased. Patch scowled. "Anyways, my name's harper!" "And I don't care" he scoffed. Harpers grin didn't falter at all then spoke "You know being like that won't stop me from pestering you" He stood his ground, but then sighed "it's, it's patch" Harper nodded and was about to say something until another voice was heard "HARPER! GET INSIDE YOU'LL CATCH A COLD!" She looked behind her "Coming ma!" She turned back to patch. "Nice meeting ya patch!" She then ran back inside. Patch stood there dumbfounded. He shook it off then sighed, then went back to his bed. "It's only been one day and I hate it here already."
-April 13, 2020, Monday. 7:00 AM-
Patch decided to get his lazy ass out of bed and prepare for his first school day of hell. Atleast that's what he thought, He decided to get up because if he didn't his parents would and that would be even more chaotic. The school was just a 20 minute walk away which will most likely mean that he wouldn't need a bus. As he kept on walking he then heard a voice behind him.
"Hey! Hey! Wait up!"
oh no.
