Ethan's P.O.V
I had just received a text from Mark, reminding me about his annual Christmas party. I had finished recording my last video for the day around 7, and I was so wrapped up in editing it that I completely forgot about Mark's party. I finished editing the video and jumped in the shower, I mean, if I'm gonna be late, I'm going to make sure I'm fashionably late, if not presentable.
I get out of the shower and throw on my black skinny jeans and random t-shirt I picked up off of the floor. I run to my room and slip on my converse, grab my keys, and head over to Mark's.

*Time Skip*
I pull up to Mark's house and look up at it in awe. No matter how many times I come over, I will always be surprised by how much Mark has accomplished and how far he's gotten. I am a little jealous, but I'm just as proud. He has come so far so fast and I am honestly just so proud of him. Mark and I have known each other since we were little kids, and it makes me so happy to see him be successful.
I walk up the steps to the front door and I hear muffled voices. I knock and stand there for a few seconds to be greeted by an eager Mark. Immediately I get pull into a rib breaking hug and hug him back. "Ethan!" He says, his voice high pitch and excited as he pulls me further into the embrace. I hear a few of my bones crack before he lets go of me. I shoot him my best smile and we walk toward the living room. I look around to see very familiar faces and one that I don't recognize. Mark had told me that his friend just moved to LA from Ireland and was going to be around a lot more. The man with green hair must be him. He was slim and he had the cutest smile. I couldn't really see his eyes, but he was really good looking. He had dark brown hair on the sides, and had only dyed the top of his head, just like me and Mark. His green hair hung down in his eyes slightly, making him even cuter. I looked around the room to make it less obvious I was staring at him.
I waved at everyone and said hi before turning towards the man with green hair. He seems to be thinking about something, but the thought goes away as he looks at the hand I'm offering him to shake. He looks up at me and I get a good look at his eyes. They are the most beautiful blue I have ever seen. They're a light, ocean blue and the edges are a little darker, and they are mesmerizing. I stare at his eyes a second more before I introduce myself, grinning like an idiot. He tells me his name is Sean, but he is called Jack. Sean... I'm a little confused as to how you get Jack out of Sean, but it's probably some Irish thing I wouldn't understand anyway. I brush away the thought as I sit next to Jack on the couch. Suddenly he turns away. Did I do something wrong? Is he alright? Maybe I should go sit by Mark... I think to myself, but before I can do anything, Mark reminds Jack that they were playing truth or dare and that he had chosen dare. We all looked at Jack expectantly and were all shocked when he told Mark to kiss Felix. I knew Mark liked Felix, he told me a while ago, but I didn't know if Felix felt the same way, so we both avoided the topic a lot. Mark's head swung towards Jack, a look of pure shock on his face. He looked over at Felix who was blushing as much as Mark was, and he got up, walking towards the center of the room, Felix doing the same. This situation seemed slightly familiar, but I didn't know why.
~Flashback~
I walked through the front door and into the hallway that lead to the bedrooms in my house. I walked as quietly as possible, hoping not to disturb anyone. I was standing in front of my bedroom door, and let out a sigh of relief, reaching for the handle. That's when I smelt the familiar scent of alcohol and cigarette smoke. I turned around to face my father, who was obviously drunk. He grabbed me by my hair and dragged me towards the living room, where my mother sat in her chair, drinking tea and reading the paper.

My father threw me to the ground and kicked me in the ribs, hard. I scrunched up in a ball so he couldn't deal too much damage. I was yanked up again, this time I screamed and kicked as he stood me up and walked me to the other side of the room. When he put my feet on the ground, he punched me in the face, causing me to lose my balance for a few seconds. Once I was standing upright, he motioned for me to move forward. I reluctantly did so to avoid another hit, and he walked toward me as well. We met in the middle of the living room, him looking down at me with an evil smile. I watched as he undid his belt and held it in his hands. Before I could process what was happening, my father had hit me with his belt multiple times, 2 across the face and a few across my stomach and back. I didn't cry, knowing if I did, my punishment would be much more severe. He hits me with his belt a few more times, causing me to wince slightly. I hope he doesn't notice this, but of course he does. He grabbed me by the hair for the third time, and dragged me down the stairs to a concrete room I'm all too familiar with.
He takes me to the table in the middle of the room, strapping my arm and legs down so I couldn't move. He walked over to his wall of "toys" and grabbed his whip. He tore my shirt off and seconds later, was hitting me repeatedly in the back, receiving no reaction from me. Although I wanted to scream and fight, and scream for help, I knew it would be no use, my father had the basement soundproofed a long time ago, and even if my family heard me, no one would do anything in fear of getting hurt. My father was a terrible alcoholic, and seemed to take his anger out on me, blaming me for his failure in life. I look up at him, and he punches me in the face as hard as he can and next thing I remember, I'm sitting in my bed, surrounded by little puddles of blood, an ice pack on my nose. I look down and see small, slightly deep slices in my sides. I get up and jump in the shower and clean up the cuts.

I stare at Mark as he looks around the room and then at Felix. Suddenly, they are kissing and I can see they are both enjoying it. When they part I shoot Mark a smile while Jack totally fan-girls next to me. I laugh a little, causing everyone else to laugh. After the laughter dies down, I remind Mark that it's his turn and he looks at Jack with a malicious grin.
