"I can't believe you asked Momo out on a date to an event for photographers! You don't even own a camera. The only experience you have with camera's is breaking mom's!" chimed Osamu.
The twins were just walking into the changing rooms when Osamu made fun of Atsumu, who sighed loudly.
"But don't you see how excited she is? She hasn't spent this much time with me since...ever! You should see her eyes, man! They are like that puppy we saw in the mall the other day."
Atsumu stripped out of his jumper and shoved it into his locker without care. Osamu let his grey eyes roll to the back of his neck while he also stripped out of his jumper and threw it into his locker. The door opened again, and Akagi and Aran came inside. They were shivering like a fish on land. It was only then that Osamu and Atsumu noticed how the clear sky had changed dramatically, and thick raindrops fought against the windows.
"I just saying," sighed Osamu, "that she might be more interested in the gear than you on your date."
"Date? Is Atsumu going on with Sakura again?" asked Suna as he dried his wet hair with a towel.
"I thought the date didn't go well," spoke Akagi.
"How do you guys even know about that? I never told anyone except...Samu! Your piece of shit!"
Osamu fought off his brother's fists and twisted Atsumu's arm behind his back. Atsumu whined in pain and stopped quickly. The rest of the volleyball team watched in amusement until the gym doors were being pulled open, and their captain marched into the room. Everyone could feel the cold radiating off Kita as he stepped behind the fighting brothers. A voice that was colder than the Antarctic, he asked them what was going on. Everyone answered him, and loud chaos erupted in the changing room. Kita sighed and massaged his temples to calm his nerves.
"Osamu, what is going on?" asked Kita, and the other shut up.
"Atsumu asked Momo on a date," answered Osamu and dodged his brother's fist. A range of expressions and emotions went through the room, but everyone found themselves at a loss for words. The silence was poison for them, for in that void of sound, the shallowness of their conversation was laid bare.
"Momo? Takeshita-san?"
"Yeah, he's taking her to an event for photographers next Saturday."
"Photokina?" asked Suna.
"Yea," muttered Atsumu, who glance at the middle blocker carefully, "what do you know about it?"
Suna didn't answer Atsumu as changing into his gym clothes seemed more critical. The tension between the team slowly lifted, and Kita walked to Atsumu.
"Takeshita Momo?"
"Yeah."
"Mh, she seems like a nice person. Is this a more serious date?"
Atsumu swallowed hard. In the last days, he didn't think about what his action meant. He asked her out on a date, and he (even if not vocally) admitted that he felt some kind of attraction towards the ginger. Thoughts and even more thoughts raced through his head. He wasn't sure how to answer his captain's question.
"I...I guess we will have to see. Anyway, Suna! We have to practice the new toss."
"Uh..." groaned Suna in the background.
