"Oh, Jennfier Sawyer, is it?" He asks with a grin. He hadn't changed a bit, he still wore the all black attire; shiny shoes and a turtle neck, minimalist yet slightly seductive. It must have been his smile or the veins bulging on his wrists, I realized I hadn't learned much of this man. Only his name and the fact that he had sisters. And now the only other thing I knew was..
"You work for King?!?" I yell.
"Better keep it down, Jennifer. This window can only keep in this much noise." He explains as he points to the black wall that separates us from the boss.
"S-sorry" I say as I turn to the window and look out.
"One question: What in the world are you wearing?" He curls his lips, I was confused as to why he asked this. His eyes wanders on the broad shouldered red blazer, and ruffled up red skirt. It was out of the ordinary, I'll admit. But it was all I had.
"It's my formal suit." I shrug.
"What's your definition of formal? Is it perhaps the Queen's birthday?" He chuckles.
"Hmph, keep your eyes on the road, Sir." I fold my arms and pout.
"Yes, Ma'am."
...
The car was quiet for the entire drive, I bit my lip, not wanting to look his way until we got to the meeting. It was held in a fancy hotel, you know, the ones with those big glass chandeliers in the lobby that makes you wonder what it's like in the rooms. King and I walked up to the reception desk, he touched the bell a few times to alert the blonde on her phone.
"Oh sorry, King. It's..." She punched in a few digits on her computer before continuing. "It's conference room 6!" She said with a wide and bright smile.
"Thank you, my dear."
"No problem, Sir."
The two had some strange eye contact going on but it wasn't my business so as usual I didn't care, I just bowed my head and walked behind him to the elevator.
He then stopped and I bumped into him, he turned around with a reprimanding scowl. "Sawyer, you are always so clumsy."
"Why did you stop in the first place?" I turned my face in disgust.
"I'll be entering the meeting alone. You have to get my clock, collect my clothes from the laundry and find me a black and gold tux for my party tonight." He demanded after handing me his credit card.
I looked down at it before looking up at him, wondering how I'm supposed to do all these things.
He entered the elevator and before the door closes he added. "And don't keep Wright waiting any longer, it costs me gas."
I rolled my eyes after walking back out to the car with the donuts still in my hands with this billionaire's credit card. "Great."
Nicholas was leaning on his car door with his arms crossed; I walked up to him and gave the box of sugared pastries to him before going around, entering the car. This is really pathetic, I have to be errand boy for this guy and he's all about do this and do that.
I plopped myself unto the seat and sunk into it, groaning as the fact that I was now had to face this strange guy again.
Nicholas opened the door and got in, he opened the box and took one of the donuts out, taking a bite. "Never in my life have I been offered donuts from a woman... but I like it." He said trying to cheer me up.
"Whatever." I muttered as I sloped even lower.
"Let's go to the park to eat these, get some air and I'll help you get what you need." He smiled then wiped off his mouth with a tissue, turning the engine on.
