The legends say that in the beginning, there was nothing but darkness, that there was a gargantuan void that housed merely a single speck of light. That speck of light grew over some time, millennia most likely, and formed into a being. The Zodiac, which he became referred to, was born from nothingness, a god to form new worlds. He was both good and bad, everything and nothing at all. When he was fully formed, now a blazing light against the blackest black, he began to test his powers to see what he was capable of.

First, he created the sun. One, mighty, burst of power exploded from him suddenly and all at once. Out of the deep black void that once was the universe, his powers collected and swirled together to form the giant mass in the skies. Pleased with his work, he tried again. This time, he created a smaller version - much smaller. He gleamed at the small sun burning before him and decided it was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. In his delight, the small suns multiplied into hundreds, then thousands, then millions, until the black abyss became a sultry backdrop against the devastatingly beautiful balls of gas we've come to know as stars. A greedy god, he wanted more, the glittering night sky not being enough. So he began shaping the planets. He tried and tried, each result coming back different. Each planet obtained their own identities; some were viciously hot, others brutally cold. The Zodiac was a god who valued perfection, so he kept creating--kept trying to forge a planet worthy of life. He tried seven times, each result different and more disappointing than the last.

After spending so much time creating and only receiving disappointing results, he was frustrated beyond belief. But a thought donned on him as he planned the next planet, there had to be a reason why these other planets were destitute and barren. There must be a balance -- a circle of life. So The Zodiac created Aurora and Mardana, the keepers of life and death, and the Three created Earth.

Finally, a planet one could call home.

Overjoyed, The Zodiac descended unto the planet all the remaining power within him. The planet's soil enriched under his toes, green forests erupted into the open fields around him. In other corners of the earth, the ground shifted and fought against itself - mountains forming. When The Zodiac looked around at his handiwork, pride bloomed within him. When he took in the beauty and the vastness that had settled in around him, felt the new wind whip around his immortal form, he wanted more. The god wept at the beauty he had created. A silent sort of happy tears that pooled and grew until seas miles deep washed over the planet.  Waves of deep blue crashed through the crevices newly formed, thundered through channels, over freshly sprung fields. Water submerged the god, but his shoulders continued to shudder. He wept until he was weary, but at last he emerged from the unsettled waters to observe what his tears had done.

Miles of sparkling oceans now stretched before the god, the sunlight from his first creation beaming down upon the waters. It was upon this sight, the waters calming as they settled into their new home, that The Zodiac smiled. The seas, which came from deep within his soul seemed to call out to him. And it was upon this sight, that he now knew it was time for his last creation.

The almighty being stood upon the highest peak within his newly created lands and outstretched his arms. As he raised his arms towards the skies, clouds and thunder circled above him. The wind was whipping and circling the god as he stood, half of his body engulfed in clouds. It was then that he reached out in front of him and grabbed a gust of wind with his bare hands. His strong hands formed it until he was pleased, then with a piece of his own power, the wind became man. Not just man -- a god in his own right. The Zodiac repeated the motion twice more, forming three gods of air: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.

He then moved down the mountain, towards the grassy plains. He reached far down into the earth and seemingly plucked three more gods out of the dirt as if they we radishes ripe for the picking. The three gods of earth born from the soil: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn
