Eleanor patiently stood in one of the campus's giant auditoriums, waiting for Hugo to finish their photo shoot set. Hugo had convinced Wesley to be their model. He figured that if they used someone who was already attractive then it would save them work in the long run. Eleanor certainly wasn't going to argue.
Hugo had filled the stage with instruments and Wesley himself had Hugo's guitar strapped onto him, a copy of the first book of the Lord of the Guitar series in his hands.
"You know, I always wanted to learn how to play," Wesley said while he too watched Hugo rush around the stage. "My parents had me learn piano instead though."
"You play piano?" Eleanor raised an eyebrow. Could he get any more attractive?
"Yup. I've played for over ten years."
"What kind of music?"
"Every kind really. I've learned my fair share of modern songs for talent shows and the like. I personally enjoy playing classical music though. My favorite song to play is Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. It moves me every time."
Eleanor swallowed roughly so she wouldn't swoon. Thankfully Hugo saved her. "I'm done! The spotlight's yours now Wes!"
Wesley nodded and traded places with Hugo on the stage. Eleanor clutched the camera they had rented from Dr. Wells tightly in her hands as Hugo started directing the photoshoot. She took pictures from every angle possible, secretly enjoying the opportunity to stare at Wesley for an hour. It wasn't creepy. It was literally homework.
"Uh, Hugo, the memory card is full. I think we have enough pictures." Eleanor took the camera away from her face to look at her friend who was still gesticulating widely and calling out random emotions that he wanted Wesley to "feel."
"Are you sure? We haven't seen pouty Wes yet!"
"I don't think a pouty model will effectively sell the book anyway."
"Yeah, probably. We're all done Wesley! Thanks, mate!"
Wesley came down from the stage, handing Eleanor the book and Hugo the guitar. "That was fun. I might have to look into modeling." Eleanor flushed when Wesley winked at her. He was flirting again and she still didn't know how to handle that. With a wave he was gone and Eleanor turned her attention back to Hugo.
"We should download these so we can start editing," he said. "If we can add prices and stuff tonight then we can print them tomorrow and start putting them out. That will give me five days to rake in enough cash to stay."
Eleanor agreed and they made their way across campus to her dorm room. When she opened the door, Alice was inside, sitting on her bed and painting her toenails, a bright pink of course.
"Hey Elle and... Gasp! Elle, is that a boy!" Alice was grinning, wiggling her eyebrows at her roommate. Hugo grinned, holding out his hand.
"I'm Hugo. It's nice to meet you. You're Alice?"
"Yup, that's me! It's sweet that Elle told her boyfriend about me."
Eleanor blushed again. "He is, uh, not my boyfriend... We are doing a project together."
Alice nodded, but the smirk on her face stayed. Eleanor opened her laptop at her desk and plugged the SD card in so they could start downloading the pictures.
"So, Hugo, if you aren't Eleanor's boyfriend, then whose boyfriend are you?" Alice probed. Hugo sat on Eleanor's bed, watching her fiddle on her laptop.
"Uh, no one's at the moment."
"Does that mean you're free Friday night?" Alice asked, a small smile taking over her lips. Eleanor felt her stomach clench slightly, but she didn't say anything. Was that jealousy?
