" Neither do you have a cat nor a half-brother." My mother explains to me ever so calmly.
She's calm....Now I'm scared.
" Do you have any idea how much I pay for you to look like this?" She says, calmly.
I wish you would just let me be.
" You do not waste my efforts and my money. Get it? I have a reputation to uphold and I don't care what you think about yourself, but I want people to think of you as a sugar princess. Got it?" She tells me.
" Mom." I utter.
" What?" She says.
" Are you sure you're my mother?" I ask her.
Am I for real right now?
She looks at me with no expression at all. Zero. Mask face.
" Derek. Please make arrangements for Ms. Teresa's admission to the Boston university." She commands.
" But madam, is Miss willing to?" Derek shoots.
I swear there hasn't been a day that I haven't wished to be half as much as courageous as Derek.
The guy could lose his job. Literally." We don't have to care about what Teresa thinks. What I think is right. " my mother affirms a little too sternly.
" I am right here." I say, trying to make my presence felt.
" I have eyes." My mother shuts me up.
" Derek, make sure I get the quickest admission to the Boston university. I have to leave as soon as possible. Nobody should have to stay in hell for at least as long as they haven't done wrong or haven't died immediately after." I say in front of my mother.
" Yes, Miss." Derek says, obediently.
After saying what I did, I leave for my room.
" Teresa. One more minute please." My mother says.
I don't want to talk to you.
" I don't want to talk to you." I say, sharply.
" My god! Look at how disrespectful and rigid you are." My mother insults me.
I look at her for a split second and walk away.
I wish for a lot of things. And not being her daughter is always at the top of the list.
Why can't she disown me? Or put me up for adoption? I've always just been a hinderance for her.
